Leather Armor

Hello All,

Does anyone know of a good source of leather in the area. I am very interested in making some of my own pieces of leather armor. I have seen a couple of vendors online, but I was wondering if there is anything in the NH area. I live in Londonderry, and I am not adverse to a little 2-3 hour trip for a good source.

See if you can get in touch with a fellow who's character name is Drenton. I don't remember his real name atm or if he is much on the boards but he is the man to go to with leather questions.
 
Drenton's real name is Mike.

He makes awesome leather armor if you are willing to commision him.

However, if you just want the materials, I recommend and Mike uses Tandy Leather.

They have a few locations, not sure if there's one in NH, but they are a great source for everything Leather Armor Making wise.

If you are buying in bulk, you can usually get a discount and they ship pretty quickly.

They are a major company and very reputable.

A good idea might be to go to Tandy's website and sign up for their flyers via email and snail mail. Then be patient, as they often have huge sales of 30-50% off the appropriate types of leather. Of course, it also depends on how much of a rush you are in. But getting 10 oz leather for armor at half price is pretty sweet.

I'm assuming you are up near NH somewhere. The Tandy store in Allentown PA is run by Scadians and they have great classes there and "get" what larpers are doing.
