Looking to Fly out for March Game

Heya folks, I'm starting to plan out my Larping schedule, and thought it might be fun to fly out for your March Event, I was hoping someone could chime in on a few questions.

1.) Chances are I'll bring either a High Level Healer, or a Moderate level crafting Rabbit (who really plays like a level 1 toon regardless ^.^) Is there room for a high level Earth Caster who is heavy on rits? Is there any market for crafters (I've found this extremely situational in the past based on chapter) Either way I''ll probably waffle on who I'm playing until the last minute.

2.) Is there a good airport I can aim for, I fly Delta exclusively and stand-by exclusively, would likely aim at flying in Friday afternoon, and out sunday night.

3.) Is there a volunteer I can tap to host/drive me, or should I start making demands of that Dreamingfurther guy?

4.) Does the Gettysburg site have beds, or do I need to plan to bring bedding?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Dave! I think it would be fun for you to fly out to our March even too.

I'll address your questions to the best of my ability.

1. Without delving too much into meta-gaming or FOIG situations: Does anyone ever say no to a high level earth caster? Last year we seemed to be well represented by scholars, which was a pretty distinct demographic from what I'm used to. I don't recall much ritual action happening, but as we're a new chapter we've only had 3 events + a faire day with which to dispense Barran ritual scrolls. We do have some cool stuff for crafters, some of which might still be in the works - or at least it hasn't been explored by our players yet. I don't know the level of involvement you could achieve as a one-time visitor, but you can at least do some fun stuff with a lab.

2. Harrisburg Airport is your best bet (unless someone knows something I don't.) It's about an hour away, but all turnpike. Plus, it's where most of the rest of the staff comes from, so it's convenient.

3. A lot of our staff lives in Harrisburg, mere minutes from the airport. We usually have a post-event props transport/pizza-and-beer hangout in Harrisburg. Someone - including me - can definitely get you to the airport Sunday night. I usually take Friday off work so I can get to the site early, and drive past Harrisburg (and right past the airport) so getting you picked up on Friday should not be a problem either.

4. The site has 6 bunk cabins, which have about 10 cots each. They have decent camp mattresses, but you'd need to bring pillows, blankets, and/or a sleeping bag (March can be fairly cold at night here, though not Minnesota cold, and the buildings are not heated.) Also, if there are any things you'd want or need that would be difficult to bring via plane, I'm sure we can find someone to hook you up.

Hope to see you soon!

The Red Keep will be glad to assist in getting you travel toiletries if you should need them!

And yes there will be a after event party at the Keep (in Harrisburg) after the event is over. =)

You are most welcome to attend.

I feel the need to point out that Andros' commentary is not an open invitation to a grand party. Trust me. Nobody wants to deal with me in a party environment for several hours immediately after an event.

Having missed my chance to Goto Seattle this weekend, I'm determined to double up my efforts to Make Gettysburg, so ya'll get to meet my (somewhat) annoying Rabbitkin.

I'll start figuring out the exact details as soon as possible (which flight etc.)

Alright I'm excited because it's all falling into place, last thing I need is a ride from (and late back to) the Harrisburg Airport. My first flight option would get in at noon, but there may be a delay because I have to fly stand-by from 2 airports ^.^

Give me a holler if you can help!
