How 'bout KILLING YOU?

Before I even try to type up my favorites, I need to correct a little something: Maggie wrote this event. I helped with some brainstorming and flung ideas around, but this was her baby - not mine. And she deserves that credit. I'm pretty sure there's nothing easy about writing and coordinating events - a lot of you oldbies know that! So thank her - not me.

What a rush. sooo much soreness...

So this was the first time I have full time npcd since my my first event. Wow was it worth it.
The behind the svenes shennanigans were fun as well as getting to entertain my friends. I say this more and more lately but it holds true. This is a gsme where you plsy with everyone not against.

Thank you guys so much for making my first event with the reins really, really fun to run :D A HUGE thank you to the NPCs, who would have to come into camp for about three minutes, change makeup, and run out the door for the entirety of the weekend. You guys worked SO damn hard all weekend, and you all kept me and each other in great spirits despite the cold and the running and running and running, haha :D Basically, I love all of you. Especially enormous thanks go out to Kris, Amelia, Kyle, and Donna, who put in a ridiculously grand amount of work helping me with props, food, furniture moving, and general sanity. I love you guys so hard <3

And thank you to PCs, to, to whom I owe most of my personal favs:

-Eftlavc'or's torture mods for Noot and Reginald. I loved watching the poor PCs react to what they had to go through, and heck, I always love watching some brilliant, sick torture. So well done on both sides! XD Eftlavc'or in general was about a hundred times creepier than I even imagined he'd be thanks to some regal sick-nastiness roleplay from Amelia. LOVE.

-Dave. Dave, I love you so much. Watching Kantil (and you?) get disgruntled, then stressed, then just broken by the weekend was one of the best things I could have imagined. Seeing you howling down Je-Tsun before the final battle was really icing on the cake. And that thing after? Beautiful. The more I get to know Kantil as a character, the more I enjoy him.

-I don't know about you guys, but Kris wailing, "MURDERERS!" and her entire pre-battle "I am a stone elf and I am having the feelings ohgodithurtssobad" freakout basically made me explode inside with joy. And other things. Seriously, I will never forget the sound of the "MURDEREEEERRRRSSS!" screams.

-Thank you NPC folks for taking the hivemind Bazteri spawn dealieo and making it so effin' fun <3 All of the, "We are on a rock!" "We find it good!", "Look what we see, brothers and sisters!", and "Heal us, sister!" chatter delighted me XD

-I only HEARD it, but when Dennis brought in Lysander's severed horns as a Bazteri spawn, Johann FLIPPED A PANCAKE and it was BEAUTIFUL. Actually, it really touched me that you guys kept all the NPC corpses. I was really glad that your characters liked 'em that much!

- I cannot even describe how many times Tugrot nearly made me lose it XD From listening to the juice freakouts to discussing "Poop in a ditch", all the way to looking at the nasty little Bazteri baby with him as Moll, Scott, you had me laughing pretty much every time I encountered you. Except when I encountered you with that polearm. ...Then I was crying.

-Dennis phys-repping what Eftlavc'or's clutching must look like in NPC camp with a huge handful of packets MADE MY WHOLE LIFE. EVERYTHING IS BEAUTIFUL AND NOTHING HURTS. Frrrrrpppplap~!

-TRACEY, WHEN YOU SCREAMED ALL VANSIR-LY WHEN YOU REZZED I NEARLY POOPED MY PANTS IN NPC CAMP. BEAUTIFUL. Seriously, I was like, "WHAT THE EFF WAS THAT WHAT IS GOING ON?"

-Collin, thank you for taking a roll that required character stretching for you! You were a FIERCE Ish Ish, and I basically want him in my back pocket all the time to yell at girls who are mean to me. Also, to ask me what I am doing. WHAT, WHAT, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

-Oh my holy everything, Drew. Johann. Poured drugs. Into a steamer. I could have peed with glee. And then he, Noot, and Kantil actually swinging damage calls at the air had the entirety of NPC camp laughing their faces off XD Also, when the three of you ran into town screaming about dragons, I love that the whole town collectively jumped.

You guys overall did some really incredible RPing this weekend, and I'm so, so happy to have had the chance to see it come to life in your talented hands. Thank you all so much for coming out for the event, and I hope to see y'all in Jersey or next season (WAHHHH!!! How will I survive sans-Alliance until then?!)

Dat's cause she got da ogre ressurection full of violence and vengeance.

Tugrot got two wifes! Then one broke

I had a really fun weekend. Sometimes the smaller, more intimate events are so much fun. With only about 20 PCs, most of whom did not know each other IG, you are forced to work together and get to know each other. The smaller numbers were also perfect for a horror/isolation game.

I think I roleplayed with every single PC this weekend. That in itself is awesome. OOG, I got to play with people I've seen at events but never really interacted with.

I also got to play with people who I've been friends with for over a decade but rarely if ever get to PC with. Tom, Toddo, Illana, Sheila...I'm looking at you guys. Thanks for taking the reigns Maggie (and crew) and allowing that to happen.

Somehow my ogre has turned into my most kind, sensitive character out of my four PCs. How the heck does that happen? But it's pretty cool.

All the "townie" NPCs were awesome and brought their characters to life and made the IG world feel more real. Tugrot was heartbroken when Beatrice died (even though Scott had a feeling something very bad was coming from the moment we first interacted). Donna did a great job with that role.

Collin, you're peacock was...well...yeah. Thanks for dealing graciously with all the IG barbs and jabs and culinary threats.

Deaths, so many deaths. I haven't felt that despondent in character in a long time. Tugrot came in confident and sure we would all fight our way out, and then the perms of Beatrice and one ogre sister broke him. I haven't had a character emotionally broken like that in a while.

And of course...naked ogre women. Tugrot now has a wife, but also considers himself a widower. Good thing there were two sisters. Angel and Emily...you two were great. And it's now been proven that if I just mention a plot idea, it almost instantly materializes.

Kyle wielding a giant tentacle rep. I squared off against him, then for some reason I just couldn't stop laughing.

Cows at the river on Sunday morning. Tugrot went to walk in the woods alone to ground himself and prepare for the final battle. I ended up talking to the neighbor's cows in character and petting one. It was a bizarre, alone, surreal, ludicrous roleplay moment that lended so much reality to my character for me.

Squid kicking infanticide. You can't beat an event where infanticide is a viable strategy. "When I step on da rotten apples in the woods, it sounds just like when I kick a baby squid head."

Ressurections. I performed three this weekend and hadn't in years. Hopefully all of you enjoyed your stories...and the subliminal, subtle ogre messages. "And den you wake to see da most handsome ogre ever."

Jinxy and the trash can/food bin. Funny stuff.

Tracey/Thorn. Some good barbarian/ogre roleplaying going on there ending in some great respect for each other.

I had a great time playing with all of you this past weekend, and in the end, that's the ONLY thing this game is really about.

Scott

Ooooohkay, now that I'm actually awake.

-Dennis re-enacting Eftlavc'or's clutching with spell packets is something I am likely never to forget. Just... the raised leg, the derpy face, the "pflllllbt" noise, everything. I lost my ish and I lose it again every time I think about it.

-Killing Donna. Killing Donna. Killing Donna. Our pre-oblit conversation was so sexy, I wish everyone could have heard it. From asking Beatrice to heal my broken hands to "I will help you in any way I can"/"Oh, you will help me" to Donna's HORRIFYING screams... Every time I see my bee-eff-eff get her acting face on, I get really excited. This was no exception.

-Being Je-tsun. Being a big bad. I've been playing for a year and within the span of one event I think it's fair to say I was one of the two most hated people in the Plains of Rage, if only for a limited time - and that, as an actress, feels awesome. I loved being stoic, I loved being in Stone Elf emotion pain, I loved eating Greater Earth Circles and Obliterating people. I loved eating Amelia's muffin-heart and I loved yelling at the entire town. This was such an amazing opportunity to stretch my acting muscles in a way I don't get to with my PC and it felt amazing.

-Dave and Drew yelling back at me during my pre-crazy ish-fit. I love to see characters so emotionally involved in what's going on and it was super gratifying to see how angry you guys were.

-Amelia, my beautiful be-tentacled prince. You made Eftlavc'or everything I hoped he'd be and then some! AND WE MADE OUT AND THE WHOLE TOWN THOUGHT IT WAS GROSS. Except for Dave. Because he's Dave.

-Speaking of the town reacting to things, you guys made me feel AWESOME. Between the nasty at the kiss and the nasty at the heart-eating... That was really gratifying as an actress. Thanks! <3

-Hearing about the PC's actually getting invested in the NPC's - from Scott being sad about Beatrice's death to Johann freaking out about Lysander's... It's nice to know that, sometimes, we aren't ALWAYS constantly suspicious of the NPC's.

-SPACE HEATERS IN THE NPC BUNKS SAVED MY LIFE.

-The opium-effects. Between the crew of Kantil/Noot/Johann pouring it into a steamer and Tom's orc eating Je-tsun's opium-addled boddy... You guys are the best. Thank you for taking that and running with it.

-Maggie's amazing props! Eftlavc'or's mask, the Bazteri baby, my pincers... I am constantly impressed with the little touches she brings to game. Actually, this whole event, in general - I am so proud of and impressed by the things that come out of this woman's mind. :wub2:

This will be short because I can't write anything right now because I'm still trying to recover from it all. My mind = blown.

I am completely shocked and awed. I will write some (like several pages long) later but out of all the events I've been to thus far...this was definitely hands down, the best.

Dave will recover. Kantil most likely won't.

Dear npc crew.. my employee who was pregnant had her baby. al i could picture was a doctor throwing a packet at her as she birthed it "I summon a force to disarm your baby"

Npcs will get this joke

Ok, I'm less broken now so we'll give this a shot.

First off, I'm going to write all of my adventures in an IG journal. There is literally too much I need to remember at times. I'll explain that later on when I actually write that stuff...

Onto the favorites that may end up being TL;DNR

-THANK YOU NPCS! You were all amazing. Except Carsten. That guy's a big time ****.

-Maggie, I so love you. I've never been so mentally mind-screwed as I was this past event. I thought I could prepare, but I wasn't even close.

-Johann, Noot and Reginald all wanting some severe payback. It lead to me choosing my team repeatedly since we all had a bone to pick with...

-Squidpoop. Because "Poop in a ditch/trench" was too long to say. Speaking of squidpoop, Amelia, you were an amazing eldritch horror. Even without words, you really gave off the "I'm so much more powerful than you, I could crush you like a bug" feeling. And that's tough to do while wearing tentacles.

-Kris as the Stone Elf Witch. I was so angered by the end, I was definitely borderline insane, and would have come at you one on one in the circle. Instead I chose to threaten you in new and creative ways.

-Reginald saying at the beginning "I'm useless out of everyone here" to being the one who not only opened the way to Efllavo...Efflacovr...Squidpoop, but landed the serious hurt by throwing alchemy. Most definitely useful. Johann's eviscerate probably helped that too.

-I liked how I became the 'leader?' somehow. At least, I felt like it at times. Like the whole 'town' was following me. I don't know if that was intentional or there was some kind of secret vote, but Kantil felt like everyone was depending on him. Stress +5

-Saving Sophie and the subsequent interrogation. I was bordering on horrific torture for a time, especially when she wasted parts of a perfectly good apple I could have given to Tugrot for some silly antics. But I got attached and was surprised I was leading all the questions and trying to keep her calm. And then taking care of her all night. What can I say? I have a thing for crazy women.

-Scouting with Lysander. Yeah, I just really needed a smoke and offered my services to the darkside for a few. Little did I know, we rolled the whole town during that time. Whoops.

-Incestual creepy healing arts. And torturing the PC's who were hiding in the circle. I didn't know "I gut you like a fish" could be a three count action til then.

-Noot after Kantil came back from a two hour scouting mission. Tom, you sent me on such a guilt trip with that one weapon hit, I broke down right then and there and cried. And then while talking to Airabella the page (who's awesome btw) about how bad I felt, she sends me off into a worse spiral of misery. I definitely felt Kantil cross the moral event horizon, which is why he started ripping throats out with his teeth. And then ate the scorpion tail of the big bad. Stress +25

-Trying and failing to save Jinx. After the town healed up after that fight, I broke down in the corner feeling so useless that I couldn't protect my friends. Stress +10

-Watching anyone who tried to help us get permed. And turning my room into a morgue. Kantil was going to make sure anyone who fell in battle against Squidpoop and her/his/its minions would receive a proper burial. Stress +10

-All the amazing RP with everyone. Seriously, I love you all.

-Tuskies. Apparently to pick up ogre chicks I need tusks.

-Uncie P! Colin you were pretty badass for such a pretty bird person.

-Running full tilt down the hill screaming DRAGONS DRAGONS DRAGONSDRAGONSDRAGONSDRAGONS and then protecting the fields of cooked bacon plants from the Dragons. Noot throwing a spear into the air and calling damage really set the mood for that one. I WILL DEFEND MY BACON LANDS!

-Bacon and Beef Pie! And sugar-free apple pie! Pie everywhere!

-Shinryu's dodging skills. Seriously, he should be in the Olympics for that bed roll-tuck out the door-somersault over the chests.

There's actually like pages more, but I'll save that for when I tell the stories later on. Amazing event, thank you to everyone. I felt like Kantil went from "Hammer-guy" to a real person. There was a time there when the stress was so much, the line blurred between Dave and Kantil. I was so IG, it was amazing.

The LARP hangover is well into effect now. As is my serious addiction to this game. Such a blast.

I don't even know where to start. I know that, no matter what I try, I'll miss something.

-In the beginning, there was rifting. We appeared in a dark stone room with mercenaries and prisoners. Just after killing the mercenaries we were faced with a choice, try to save the people behind bars crying for help, or follow a MWE we didn't know. That was possibly Noot's hardest decision of the weekend.

-Each of our Bennie NPCs were hard to lose. I don't think I could even inventory the various bits of furniture that Noot and other bounded over as we (futily) rushed the circle where Beatrice was being killed. Noot was standing beside Sarah as she was pulled away and murdered. Then he was standing beside Karston when the same thing happened to him. Hey Kyle, I tried...

-Being tortured in the basement was awesome. I had an absolute blast being squicked out and taunting Effluence. Noot being told that there was no way he was making a squid baby because Eftlacor (sp) was worried if his child could survive burrowing through his skull was awesome. Being Rifted out immediately after Noot said, for the second time, "I can do this all day." That was the best timing ever Bob.

-I really hope that Reginald learned a bit about how useful he was. I don't think we would've beaten Eftlacor if he hadn't been around. Those globes were a blessing.

-Immediately after the big battle on Sunday, when Kantil returned, Noot saw him on the porch. He stormed outside and demanded to know where Kantil was. The look on Kantil's face when Noot blamed every Res on him. It was priceless. I wanted to apologize to Dave for that one when it was happening.

-The sheer amount of rage-y vengeance, from the obtuse to the subtle, was a joy to behold. Johann skinning and generally brutalizing the Children. People who'd just had enough jumping up and down on the brain bugs. The amount of rage boiling just under the surface (and sometimes over the surface) with poor Reginald.

-Listening to Tugrot and later watching him after he'd had some of Karston's fruity drink. Scott, that was amazing.

-Dragon.

Seriously. I can't even put into words how much fun it was to just yell ridiculous things. Eating grass we thought was bacon. Asking Kantil how his butt caught on fire when the dragon was obviously spitting acid. Drew and I clutching each other inside a very tiny circle of stones. Snapping out of it while clutching Drew in a tiny circle of stones. Being molested by Drew after waking... y'know what... I'll stop there.

-The banana practical joke was going to be glorious. Stupid monsters.

-Bed time stories with Uncie P.

-I got to RP with a bunch of people that I rarely/never get to RP with. That made the weekend awesome all on its own.

-Poor Rayna. She wound up getting a bit abused this weekend. She had it rough. She kept getting stuck facing off with Paranoid people. Noot stabbed her with a spear, which was just after Johann burned down a forest. She was also almost attacked by Kantil and Reginald. Without even thinking, Noot handed her a copper piece from the monster she'd just killed. She had to babysit the dragon slayers... Sarah, you're a saint.

-I really thought, a handful of times, that the stress was going to get to someone and it was going to come to blows. I think that says a lot for the people in this game. Kantil exploded on Traber. Thorn nearly hit Tugrot. Noot almost used a Slay on Kantil. We were all on edge most of the weekend. Things like "Poop in a Trench" only came around to help keep us sane and take the edge off.

-I think the best entry I could put in here is "All of it." I don't really think that'd do the weekend justice, though.

Well done to Maggie, Kris and Amelia on this one! They ran camp most beautifully.

My favorites are overwhelmingly numbered as well, here's a couple until I make another post with more.

- An hour and a half in a chair being turned into a peacock wylderkin. Isha Dawann, we hardly knew ye.

- Honestly, the character was way out of Collin "stubble and machismo" Babcock's comfort zone, but after a while I really had fun with the role. Maggie offered me Karstenn, to which I replied "Tell me about the peacock."

-The distraction of angel's spawn, then Kiba pouncing. A testament to her race.
-Johann continuing to bring books and games to Isha.

- Not swinging a single weapon all...weekend...long... (twitch.)

More laterz!

This weekend was one of the most amazing weekend I have had in about 2 years. I was able to get fully into the feeling of the weekend. There were moments that made me drop my jaw. First I would like to thank all the NPC's for this weekend. You made an immersive weekend making you feel like you were on the edge of hopelessness.

These are just a few of my favorite moments.

Giant Banana set up
Lysander dying and Npc bringing back the horns to taunt Johann. Boom Johann went off.
Imaginary dragons in our heads and the fight in the field...
Kinda feeling like a leader this weekend with Kantil.
10 rezz's and I only had to deal with 1, my own.

Many many more I will post after the alliance weekend hangover.

*First and foremost, Maggie, Kris, and Amelia- YOU ROCK! I think this event was my most favorite out of the whole season, hands down. There were so many times I found myself so deep in character that I didn't know whose emotions were whose anymore, and that's the first time that's happened to me. It was both frightening and totally awesome at the same time and I love you all the more for making it happen!

*Second, THANK YOU NPCs! You guys really brought the awesome story to life and tried you hardest to scare/creep out/drive insane the PC crew.Thank you all so much and I look forward to being on the same side of the fence with most of you at the next Jersey event!

*It was really cool to get to talk to some of the staff both in and out of game. I hadn't gotten to interact with most of you before this weekend, and I really enjoyed playing with you all.

*All things Scott/Tugrot. OMG every time you started in on 'Uncie P' I cracked up! And the naked ogre ladies randomly appearing in the circle right after Tugrot wished for strippers was just too funny!

*When Noot was sent back after Reginald sacrificed himself, Rayna felt so awesome and useful for having a Restore potion. We knew it was serious when we were calling 'Noot' and there was no 'I am Noot' back!

*The banana joke was going to be so EPIC! lol Stupid monsters... And yes, I totally ripped the butt out of my pants when the NPCs caught us in the middle of practicing for the joke! That's the last time I try and play a joke! =p

*So much emotion! Rayna went through so many emotions in this event it was truly dizzying! Terrified, worried, pissed off, sad, excited, despondent... I had a hard time separating my emotions from hers after a whlie. It was a blast getting to delve deeper into my character, and thank you to everyone who had a hand in it! All I can say is Rayna is definitely not the naive child-like dryad she started out as after this. Maybe by spring she'll start to recover...

Truth.

This was a great event for people to get to know each other better. Small events are amazing for that. Interacting with people in such a positive manner makes the game better for everyone. There were so many people that I spent all weekend with that I had probably never said more than 2-3 sentences to in all the events before this. Good times. There were probably a dozen people I had only kind of seen around game before this weekend that are now friends.

So next time you see me scowling because I need to fix the plumbing or because someone trashed the kitchen again, you will hopefully remember I'm not always cranky

Scott

So I realized that I need to npc more because I had a blast.

Maggie, Kris and Amilia this event was fun. Even if I came half way through it.

So I had a blast beating you pc's up. So here are my favs

Disarm your baby.... Ugh.

Talking mad smack outside the door. I think it was funny cause half the stuff I said there was totaly made up. The come to find out it was all true! There really were people outside!!! Lol

Me and Emily just wanted to rp so we came up with a story and rolled with it. Oger girls for the win!! It was alot of fun to play crazy oger girls. And we turned the mood to happy. The. Massive sadness after Emily's npc permenetly died. Yeah we're sick but you loved it. Then Snooga is now married. I went back to npc camp and was like 'how did that happen??' oh and Denice telling Emily and I what Scott had told him after the fact just made me laugh so head caus it was totaly on th fly. We had no idea!!!

Creepy healing arts!!!! I felt so many pc's cring when I did it!!!

Dead pc mutilation! Sorry Sheila. It was sick twisted and so awesome!

The Romani curse fest! Made me sad that they were removed though. Would have been fun as lanna to find out.

The last big bad monster! Watching all of your faces as we just rose up was amazing.

That's it really. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as me!

Angel

Oh my gosh! That was so cool. Thanks for making my first adult LARP so great guys!!!!

- Uncie P- STORY TIME!!!!
- The murderous, invisible giant bannana joke. (Those dumb monsters ruined it TWICE!) :grrr:
- Those dragons, and how everyone jumped up when they ran into town yelling "DRAGONS!"
- Sophie when she started screaming at like 2 in the morning.
- Shinru catipulting across the bunk bed and over the chests
- Poop in a ditch
- My heroic healing hide, run, slide, and fail
- Those high pitched scream everyone gave off after we boiled the bazteri baby
- Res-ing like 3 people (always fun)
- Tugrot after he eats fruit
- The overly dramatic, naked ogre women
- During that battle with the 6 res-es- the showdown I had with the semi- empty. (I love any square-offs i can get!):)

I'll probably think of 4 more once press the 'submit' button. HaHa.

OVER ALL AMAZING! It was so cool, I cant thank you all enough.
I look forward to see you all again.
It was great!!!

I don't even know how to summarize my favorites from this weekend... It was so full of win...

Thanks to all the hardworking writers, staff and NPC's who did such an awesome job all weekend. I felt like playing Lysander I got a unique perspective playing both sides of the fence and getting to interact with everybody.

Thanks to everybody for being so awesome that I feel constantly challenged to be a better roleplayer when I'm around you all. You rock.
