Maelstrom is always trying new things, to try and bring you a more immersive, and rewarding experience, and to break old habits, and shake off tired tropes. To that end over the past year, and a half, and more we have installed “Roleplay” challenges, small things to focus on per game to help enhance yours, and everyone else’s experience together. Together we make this great story that we will remember for years to come.

This Friday night will encompass the many Roleplay challenges that we have been installing over the past year and a half in the form of a maximum immersive experience.

List of Roleplay challenges are found in another post. Here.

You, as your characters will NOT be starting game at the Vaeltarii city, or the surface Vale. You will be starting at a small Vaeltarii fishing village, which will be represented by the back of the TSB. From there we will have an abridged listen up to cover some important materials, and then you will be led to a spot, where you will enter the stage.
The stage will be properly phys-repped, and encompasses Cutter as a whole. If you wish to wander down a path, feel free to do so. Obstacles, Potential enemies, etc will be in play. There will not be “Lair cards” because that will all be out there. If you wish to leave the game area/stage you must do so ingame, via the same way you arrived, or other standard methods, spirit walk, spirit recall, etc. Yes this will be phys-repped.
To help facilitate this we ask that the players arrive asap, and promptly setup your area, get in costume/makeup, and head down to the TSB. IF you are able to help decorate the “hall”, or help with other setup please do so. We ask that you please stash as much of your stuff under your bunks as possible, and CLEARLY mark anything else as Out of Game as we will need to make use of the cabins, and other areas to setup some décor, etc for you to interact with once game on is called.

Once the game on is called the stage will be "ingame" and you will be able to interact with it as normal.

Yes we understand that you will have cabins and such to sleep in oog, but your characters may have to clear, and secure the structures ingame on Friday. Once the structures are approached, cleared, secured you are free to do with them as normal. Ward them, install a lock, trap, etc, etc. Marshal notes will be checked throughout the event.

Your characters are infiltrating a foreign site, and will have to decide what objectives to tackle, and how to tackle them with what you have available.

Initial Check in Logistics will be at the TSB, please come to the BACK of the TSB, by the screen door. Once you are checked in, please hang out, there will be some soft roleplay, and other amenities available until we start our abridged listen up promptly at 9:30pm. We will not wait. There is important in game, and out of game information available at this listen up/soft lay on that you will want.

For those of you arriving after 10:00pm Friday night, please be respectful of other players, and try not to detract from their experience. Please have a white headband on, and mind players in the game area. Please get ready and come to the TSB, and speak to a Storyteller PRIOR to entering the stage, even for those of you that may arrive Saturday it is critical that you speak to a Storyteller PRIOR to entering the stage, we will have important information that your character will want to have.

For this experience to yield the best results it is imperative that we all do our best to remain in character at all times. We all get tired, if you need to step out of character for whatever reason, please head up to the Parking Lot and take a break.
Our Cast Characters, Monsters, and others will react to sounds, noises, etc appropriately while on the stage/game area. Trying to avoid detection from hostile automata is probably not the best time to discuss traffic conditions in the bay area.
Aka, we will assume that your actions, and words are INGAME once you are on stage/in the game area.

Please unload, and park car

Get in costume/makeup

Stash personal/ingame belongings under bunks, and/or clearly mark OOG neatly. If all your stuff doesn’t fit under the bunk throw a tapestry, cloth, or jacket over it, and put a note that says “OOG” on it.

Help setup Hall, or head to the BACK of the TSB

Check in, hang out, rp.

Listen up at 9:30pm Friday.

Have fun.
