Hello unbounded. Over the course of last market day, you have acquired all four ingredients needed to create refined malatite. It was rather late in the market, but both Master Weaver Jonas and High Vindicator Constantine briefly explained to you all their plans for the malatite. Seeing as you unbounded were the ones who risked obtaining the ingredients, they feel it only fair that you all should have a say to what use they are put. Below are the plans for each:

Master Weaver Jonas:
Specifications for the general understanding of the Blight Removal Ocilating Dispersal Decide (from here on BRODD)

Purpose: Allow for extended stays within the Blightlands for Blight affected creatures/staff

Range: Approximately 100 square kilometers. This is the expected size of Archduke Rumil's warcamp.

Effect: Reduction of ambient blight energies to that of the city of Rathfall. Additionally acceleration of healing blight sick individuals. The most heavily affected individuals showed full healing after eight hours of rest effectively reversing a single "blight mark" per half an hour with in the region of influence.

General Mechanism: Full disintegration of Malatie Ore into breathable particles then dispersal across a wide boundary.

Drawbacks:

• Slow to move (large object)
• Requires constant supply of purified malatie
• Incredibly dangerous backlashes if damaged

High Vindicator Constantine:
Malatite marks and the malatite obelisk

Purpose: Allow for safer sorties into the blightlands for our knights and soldiers, and a safe haven for them to return to.

Range: 31 square miles. This will encompass most of Archduke Rumil's warcamp.

Effect: Purified malatite will be infused into the enchanted Marking ink of the Earth's Chosen, a special "Malatite Mark" will be made, and disperse itself into the body over time. This will double the body's natural resistance to blight, and will also provide some resistance to concentrated blight effects.
An Obelisk of pure refined malatite will be erected in the center of the warcamp, and will provide an umbrella of protection from the Blight's passive effects.

General Mechanism: Full malatite magics dispersed evenly throughout the warcamp.

Drawbacks:

  • Obelisk is slow to move and install
  • Obelisk can not sustain any damage, lest the effect be lessened
  • Soldiers must be eventually rotated out of the campaign for 28 days

The decision will be made in three days.

If I might speak my own mind on the subject, and offer an endorsement.

When the unbounded first arrived in Rathfall, it was to combat an semi-apocalyptic level event. An event in which notable members of the Earth's Chosen colluded in. While the Earth's Chosen have stated they have made reformations and have managed to avoid public scrutiny since then, I am unconvinced of any real change. Truthfully, I am surprised they were not disbanded in Rathfall... though then again, I suppose I'm not surprised...

The Mistweavers are at the very least honest in their interest of academic pursuits. Master Weaver Jonas has thus far shown himself to be an honest and forthright man, a quality in short supply in Rathfall.

I consider the ramifications of  who we align with to be far more important than their intended methods. Their methods are still worth noting however and I side with the Wistweavers here too. The Earth's Chosen require indoctrination in order to benefit from their design. This is a ploy for power and plotting for oneself does not befit a state that intends to survive the Blight. We need every soldier we have, and our options are reduced to either swear them to the Earth's Chosen, or leave them home.

Given all this, I am willing to take what disadvantages the Mistweavers bring in their need for constant resources.

Thank you for your time,

Hello, Unbounded Battle-Forged.
Just as a clarification, High Vindicator Constantine's intent is not to swell his ranks with those desperate to remain unblighted. This Malatite mark will be distributed to all willing soldiers in Archduke Rumil's warcamp. One does not need to swear allegiance to the Earth's Chosen, or the Mistweavers, in order to benefit from their proposal.

Given my fields of Study in Veils, Barriers, and other Protective High Magics, the proposal presented by the Earth’s Chosen is by far more thaumaturgically sound: the mystical systems they employ are similar to other proven systems of Foci Emanation and Topical Administration of slow-release medicine. These conventions without a doubt will prove both efficacious and tenable.

However, I have decided to cast my vote for the proposal presented by the Mistweavers, if for no other reason than because their method is “by design, egalitarian,” as a wizened celestialist noted in my dialogue among confidants.
The risks presented by such an unstable and untested set of sciences are, for me at least, overcome by the potential merit of equitable access: with enough logistical consideration and planning, the restoration benefits of the aerosolized Malatite Cloud can be made available to even the poorest and most vulnerable among those afflicted by Blightsickness.

The presentation of the Earth’s Chosen, by contrast, creates a system in which there is yet another Gate of access that will be Kept by They who hold the Key.

I will not yet comment on the virtue, ethical integrity, or humanitarian merit of either the Mistweavers or the Earth’s Chosen, as the very recent official actions of both Houses have given me pause for grave concern.

It is solely for presented Method and Outcome that I support the Mistweaver’s Pharmamagical proposal, and I will work to advocate that regardless of placement for the Area of Effect, a good faith effort is made to ensure that a medical facility for treating blight illness is erected and made available to serve any and all who make the journey, free of charge and without debt accrued.

It will also be noted that both The Order of The Pearled Heart and The Crafter’s League have chosen each to remain collectively neutral in this decision making process and abstain from endorsement; instead, they each encourage their individual members to follow their hearts in this matter and cast their votes accordingly.

what has been decided?

has anyone gone to the underdark to find a way to reduce or even eliminate the blight?
, because the mages was working on a spell of some kind before the laboratories were abandoned due to the spreading of the blight.
