Didn't see one of these go up yet, so decided to get the ball rolling. Posting mine shortly, but wanted to have the thread ready to go for everyone.

Tell us what you had fun with this event!

For me, this was overall a great event. That's not to say things necessarily went well IG, but the player had a ton of fun. ^_^ Here's what I can remember so far...
  • NPCs all around. This is often a thankless job, but I definitely wanted to call you all out first on the list. I had great RP and combat interactions with the whole crew. It means a lot to me that the NPCs as a whole seemed to have a great mindset for the event, often playing their roles with a bit more attention to "fun" or "what's good for the scene" over trying to win or whatnot. You guys were a tireless horde of entertainment and death. I can't thank you enough.
  • Got to spend a bit more time meeting and chatting with a few of the Wayfarers, who're a pleasure to have around.
  • New deputy! Thank you Sol for not only putting up with being drafted, but also doing a great job when I was dragged off in 10,000 different directions.
  • The funeral was lovely and emotional. Kudos to Mac and Jules for their work on making that happen on the PC side, and to Jenn for her role as the deceased. Sorry for making you cry, Jenn /sorrynotsorry
  • The Palace of the...um...I mean the endless dungeon. Stellar idea, Mike, and well-executed. Needs a few tweaks, but the idea and setup is great. Love it. :)
  • Piles of praise and kudos to Derrek and Jesse for quickly putting together the rat/kobold ninja mod. I don't think I've had that much fun NPCing in a long time. It was silly and scary at the same time and hope the PCs felt much the same!
  • Related to the above, I don't know the names of a lot of the players on the rat/kobold ninja mod, but wanted to make sure to do a few callouts for being good sports as we tortured you all. I'll edit if/when I learn names (note: I'm horrible at names and likely won't learn them for a year):
    • The world's tallest hobling: Thank you for making me laugh almost to tears. The joking and especially the yelp and fleeing when I appeared out of the fog and asked you to step aside so I could kill your healer really made my day.
    • Rangery human guy: Thank you for being a good sport with being dragged off into the corner for an impromptu nap. It's not a glorious role, but you handled it with dignity.
    • Kavi/Tivi: I know berserk is hard to play, especially without any offensive capability, but you did great. I had to sit down and laugh it off when you sat down like an upset child and just screamed at people. Well done!
    • Nick/Thran: Belligerent drunk deer is scary deer.
    • Miguel/Nevermore: Sorry about the naptime(s). Those arrows hurt our wee kobold selfs. Thanks for being a good sport about that, and the banter when we figured out the proper seasonings for raven. ^_^
  • Mike, David, Sol, Sierra, Payton, and maybe others in NPC camp for putting up with my shadowrunning. Wish you all could remember it. :D That ridiculous series of interactions was amazing.

Thanks for getting this posted Jim! What a fun event and great way to kick off the season!

Mike, David, Sol, and others (2 other NPCs I can't remember names) in NPC camp for putting up with my shadowrunning. Wish you all could remember it. :D That ridiculous series of interactions was amazing.
The two names you are looking for are; Sierra (Fairfax) and Payton (Lornn)! I enjoyed the couch RP with you as well :).

Thank you Sol, Cory, Cea and Paul Jr for the great final roleplay as Baldric! Hopefully fear and angry weren't the only emotions he caused for the town. :)

I also enjoyed playing my own new emotive (Like, Crush, Love, Obsession) and chasing Jax as he went back for birdboy's bow.

It was fun to play the rats in people's cabins, eating your banners and leaving droppings behind.

I loved the kobolb/rat encounter with the very energetic and excited newer players!

This was certainly a memorable event!

Congrats to Will and Suzanne, we're all looking forward to seeing what's next for Alliance Denver.

Shout Outs:
  • Blue Wolf: I always enjoy our chats, but it was really nice to get to talk about some of the challenges Blue Wolf faces as "the person who knows all the magic things." You and I rarely have our downtime line up and I am truly grateful for the time we do get together. <3 Thank you for catching me up on the various dumpster fires in Fortannis while the nearby listeners sat in sheer shock. #acarthiaisacakewalk
  • The Fortune Telling Gal whose name I've blanked on: Thank you SO much for those fortunes! You often don't get to see the RP that kind of prep-work creates, but folks were all buzzing about your strangely accurate fortunes. I will be taking those with me to Chicago for nationals and making sure you get full credit.
  • Jax & Wulfgar: Thank you both for the wonderful RP on Sunday morning.
  • Yorik: Thank you for being a part of the crew this weekend, many awesome moments and thank you for picking up various crazy threads.
  • Duer: Truly a joy to have you back for a weekend! It really was like having the band back together.
  • The Wayfarers Cabin: Everyone in the cabin, you were amazing as always. From the food, to the chill nature, to the "holy **** what just happened?" moments. From the bottom of my heart - Thank you.
  • Marcus? Merrick? Nice ranger dude?: You were epicly stoic in the face of everything being on fire around you (in game). Thank you for being on point and just a joy to RP with.
  • Team New Mexico: Thank you so much for joining us this weekend! You were all so awesome to meet (briefly) in game!
  • THE TALLEST HOBBLING: Decklan you're a beast.
  • Lagarde: Always love our brief interactions!
  • Quinn: Thank you for always being there <3 Loved all the RP and knowing you were always nearby - even if you shouldn't jump in front of my with 1hp!
  • Regan (whose character name I can never retain): *non-corona cough* deputy *non-corona cough* Lovely RPing with you through the curse plots!
  • The Wayfarer "Littles": Thank you all so much for letting me put you on various tasks! Well done all around!
  • River: You were a boss with the dark unicorn plot!
  • Nevrin: Battle Bird ftw. Thanks so much for coming out!
  • Michael (whose character name I can also never remember): I loved our porch chat and being able to bounce ideas off of you!
  • BRAD THE CORGI: Love the loaf!
  • Sir Risome Yarrow (who probably won't see this): Zach, thank you for doing me a huge favor and gracing us with your presence! <3. Having Eldred, Elavir, Ri and Duer in the same spot for like 5 minutes was one of the highlights for me, plus getting to introduce you around.

Thank You's:
  • Jesse: As Ray mentioned at closing ceremonies we often forget what LARP communities give us. Sometimes its friends, new partners, and even children. Jesse gave us one of the largest LARPs in Colorado, which gave way for other games here locally. Alliance Denver brought together an incredible tapestry of players to create something truly new that has paved the way for new games and new opportunities in the Alliance Network itself. Thank you Jesse for changing many of our lives in ways that are hard to calculate.
  • Jen: Thank you for your hard work and dedication to story here in Denver. <3. You've played so many roles for us in the last 7 years and I want to thank you for trying to give everyone your best, no matter what weird BGA or background you receive.

A note on the spirit farewell:

This was not the most popular choice, I'm well aware of that. That said I'm going to share why I made this choice for a moment:

The Duchess was a staple in our game for 7 years, and was well worth the work I put into her Spirit Farewell ceremony. For me this wasn't just the end of a character, but the end of an era in Alliance Denver's history. Thank you to those who said goodbye (or hello in some cases) and a huge thank you to everyone who played a Tiberion over those years.

Often times in LARP we do not get to acknowledge IC change, because we're too busy dealign with whatever is on fire. This was a moment to reflect for all of us on the history and legacy of a regime that favored the principles inclusion and giving anyone an opportunity to be something more. I felt that was worth a moment in time. Thank you all for indulging me.

Greetings all! After the long hiatus from Alliance, I have to admit that I had a blast being back! lets see what I can do do remember and do justice to the interactions I had!

Friday evening I volunteered, since I was basically day tripping Saturday, and Sunday I also was NPCing.
  • Started the night by being the father of one of the Wayfarers, and escorting them into town. had a lot of fun bring her into the fold and assisting with the start of the addiction. ^_^
  • then a couple of monster waves and getting back into the swing of being crunchies.
  • then being Brandon Tiberion again. I had a lot of fun revisiting this role. I am glad that I have been able to be this character with all the reactions and recognitions. The touching conversations with everyone, especially the heartfelt gift from the young wayfarers. Also bouncing off of Siera as Heather Tiberion. helping her with information of the past interactions while still be the teasing slightly older brother was Awesome!
  • then I think there was another wave of crunchies
Saturday!!
  • First mod I got on was the Lost City! WOW was that a rough ride! Fun but did that ever ramp up fast! needing to get used to the new systems and skills. really awesome effects though!
  • Next thing that really stood out was the destined mod to the warehouses. Little did I know that I had blown the APL curve. There after ensued a good 45 minutes of rats and Kobolds and Shenanigans. Have to say that the young ranger berserking while webbed was fun! then despite the several sleeps I took, Berserked Tivi and then Drunk Tivi was amazing to interact with. That and the banter with Jim and Jesse as the kobolds about who would make better armor, or dinner ^_^
  • I know that there where other mods before the refresh but I cant remember them right now.
  • then the evening shenanigans with interacting with a being that enjoyed being called "They" that was fun ^_^
  • then the evening swarm of rats! glad I remembered what I had seen earlier!
Sunday!
  • Back in NPC camp!
  • first thing was catching several people as part of a squad of redcaps. that was fun. and hearing the confusion on the faces of people when magic or silver was no effect. lots of fun!
  • then came the last fight with the resolution of the cursed plot line. glad to hear that there was resolution and I wont be comming back as a swarm of rats in some form or another next time I NPC ^_^

I know that I missed a fair amount in this rendition but Man did I have a blast! looking forward to next time!
