Baron
When the news of the mass exodus of Parson’s Breach reached the Conclave-Penta in Calenhelm the Sanctum’s Prime Magus, Rhialto Alata,r immediately made his way to the Arch Mage’s dwelling on top of the highest spire.

He approached the door, whispered the password to Az’Caine’s Ward and steadied himself. He grabbed the door handle and pushed. The door moved easily, even though it was made of heavy oak and banded in hard metal. As he stepped into the room he immediately was assailed with the smell of burnt metal and there was a palpable smoke tinge in the air.
Looking around the room to the Greater Circle of Power of Az’Caine’s he was taken aback by the smoldering remains of his personal Golem. “My friend what did you do?” he whispered. Knowing full well that Az’Caine only summons his Golem in times of dire need of the King or Calandonia, his fears began to take hold anew. Again, he had to steady himself and remember his duty. Moving to the Arch Mage’s desk, Rhialto rummaged through several scrolls until he came upon the ritual he required.

Grabbing the reagents from a chest beside Az’Caine’s bed he entered the Greater Circle and began casting. Once completed the Golem reformed and stood at attention, fully healed and ready for battle once again, ready to accept the Spirit of Az’Caine when the time came. Still contemplating what on Calandonia could have damaged the Golem so, he realized that the Whispering Wind ritual may be able to connect him to the Circle of Power in the Breach.

Rhialto called for a servant to fetch the Ritual from the Vault and waited. Turning back to the Golem, there appeared to be several dents from weapon blows and several areas of the Golem where scorched as if the Golem was lying face down when whatever burnt it to the point of nearly destroying it happened. “Powerful the blast must have been to leave such marks even after the healing ritual” Rhialto muttered to himself, unaware that his servant had rushed back to the doorway.
“Enter the Ward, Hiro, please”. The servant moved quickly to the Magus and handed him the Scroll. “You may leave, but stay near”. Again, Rhialto moved to the chest of Reagents and pulled the ones he required.

Entering the Circle once again he began the Ritual that would link him to the Breach and his mentor. “As both of these Circles were created by Az’Caine, the ritual should prove beneficial indeed” he mused.
The ritual completed, Rhialto sends a very simple message “M’Lord, contact me immediately and let me know your situation and the fate of the King”.

A gust of wind blows through the room and out the nearest window facing Parson’s Breach.

Magus Rhialto sat quietly in the ArchMage's room, desperate to know if his message was recieved.

A young Aspirant rushed to the door and called softly to his superior, not wanting to intrude upon his contemplations. "Uhm, Magus, there is a young Barbarian in need of some services."
"Hmmm? What? Boy! What is it? A Barbarian? Who?" Rhialto questioned, his voice full of impatience and concern.

"Uhm, Master Goos, uhm, squire to the king. He's asking for some.... rituals to be cast upon him, or his weapon, ahm, I'm not 100% certain." the aspirant managed to stammer.

Rhialto let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine. Find Adeptus Major Farr' Shen". He should be able to help. Now please, leave me to my business."

The aspirant was noticably shaken by the request. "The Adeptus Major? Farr'Shen? Dire this must be to have the highest ranking Saar caster involved in such minor rituals...."

He immediatley set out to the north Spire, home of the War-Sages of the Conclave-Penta. Known to be the most feared tower of the five (save for the Arch Mage's dwelling!) as it is filled with the best war-sages in the land. Deadly with both blade and spells, this was not a place entered unless the need was dire indeed....

A messenger enters the Conclave-Penta. "I have a message for Magus Rhialto." He pulls a sealed parchment out of his bag. It bears Rhialto's name as well as the seal of the Fatespinner.

One of the many Lore Teachers present takes the parchment and dismisses the messanger. He turns to one of his students, a Hobling, "Barnibus, take this to the Magus Prime with all due haste. He is in the residence of the ArchMage".

The hobling grabs the parchment and with as much speed as his little legs can manage he sprints up the stairs. "So many stairs! You'd think they'd come up with some magical lift or something that you could just push a button or pull a lever and it would take you up there...." he muses between floors to catch his breath.

Onwards he climbed until at last the ArchMage's quarters were within site. He'd never been up here before. "Funny, I would have thought there would be more, stuff..." he whispered to himself.
Gingerly he knocked on the door until invited in by the Magus.

"The Ward recognizes Barnibus. Please Enter" the Magus stated, a worried look upon his face. "Anything wrong?" Barnibus asked. "I have yet to even know if my message was received by Az'Caine. The message still has not been heard as far as I can tell" mumbled Rhialto, more to the room than to Barnibus.
"But, Magus, the only reasons that one would not get the message is because the Spirit is not available to take it". The words barely escaped his lips when the weight of his statement nearly brought the hobling to his knees.
"Think not of that. There can be other reasons" Rhialto said, more to convince himself than anything else. "What brings you here?"

"Message from the Fatespinner, Magus" Barnibus stated and handed over the scroll.

"I see. Thank you Barnibus. The Ward reckognizes you out" he said with a wave of his hand.

Barnibus left. Making his way back down all those steps seemed to take even longer than going up. It must have been the weight of the Magus' words that slowed him down.

Rhialto sat in the ArchMage's chair and opened the parchment....

Rhialto, looking none too impressed with the Fatespinner's words. Many days had passed and still nothing from the Ritual. No word either way. The waiting was worse than not knowing.

He looked around the room, to the many meals that were set infront of the Circle of Power, untouched. Apparently it had been a while since he was drawn from his thoughts. He stood and stretched the aches out of his joints. He called out to whichever attendant was present. The cherub face of Barnibus peered around the corner, a look of concern and relief upon it. "Ah, Barnabus. I need to speak with the other Magus'. Run to their attendants and tell them to meet in the Council chamber after morning meal. Get Adeptus Major Farr'Shen as well, we will need his WarSages on our march."

"Our March?" Barnibus dared to ask.

"Yes. In 3 days time, the Santcum will March upon the Breach and surrounding area. We MUST ascertain the fate of the ArchMage and the King". Send word to the Colonel as well, and as a courtesy, the Fatespinner. If they wish to attend and hear our plans, so-be-it. If not, it changes our course not. GO NOW!"
Barnibus did not have to be told twice, and off he sped as fast as his legs could take him.

Rhialto then understood just how hungy he was, and picked up the most recent meal of venison and wine. He would eat, then sleep then begin the march towards the Breach and his master and freind.

Another messenger enters the Conclave-Penta and calls that he has a message for thier leader.

Barnibus leaps from the last stair to the floor in a sprint towards the main doors.

A Crash is heard and several moans as the two messengers meet, violently! Fortunatley, Barnibus has a pretty solid head.... not sure how strong the groin of the Earth Weaver's messenger is.

After they pick themselves off the floor and the messanger regains composure (and conciousness), Barnibus sees his crest and then his eyes move to the scrolls lying on the ground. "Trade ya?" he asks while rubbing his forehead.

He puts Rhialto's message into the pouch of the Earth Weaver messager, grabs the one for Rhialto and turns back to the stairs. sighing heavily he begins the long climb back up to the Council Chamber...

Well that was easy. The messenger thinks, while rubbing his sore spots. Then checks the message in his pouch, and heads back to the Earthweavers' Enclave.

Laurent; having performed his first required duty for the Home Guard; now arrives here for the second.

He reports at the front. "Lore-Teacher Laurent von Justeau, Invested of the Circle in Parson's Breach, arrived." He tilts his head and closes his eyes as if seeking something, then opens and resumes his questions. "Zhe Arch-Magi nicht madez it ja? I haz zhen to reports vhat ve haz encountered in yon Breach...zhere iz Unnatural Magics, Corruption zhere."

He awaits someone to point him to the right place or person there.

Another Lore Teacher approaches Laurent. "Greetings and welcome back to the Conclave-Penta. At this time all the Magus' are in the Council Chamber and not be be disturbed. If you have any information for them can be written down and I will pass it on as soon as they are available. Rooms for Lore Teachers are in the Western tower 3rd through 5th floors if you require."

Zanthia arrives at the Conclave-Penta not without trepidation. Entering the front door, she calls to the first person she sees, "Please show me to the meeting chambers."

inside the Council Chambers..

The 4 ruling Magus' and the WarSage Adeptus Major stand around a very detailed map of the mountains and the Breach. Magically enhanced the map nearly pops up to three dimensions. Rhialto muses over the Breach in close detail. "The Home Guard will be sending their forces here and through here" he points to the Western Pass and southern pass, "Our concern is not for the Breach itself, but for the ArchMage and the King. I know that Az'Caine is not foolish enough to stay in the Breach proper, there are too many of Kara Vale's forces in that immediate area. He would have moved the King to a more defensible location in the mountains here" he motions to the Eastern slopes. We will be working with the Conclave of Ral'Endas. The Dwarves are searching the tunnels above and below the Western slopes and even into Faybridge. So far, they have found nothing.

"I believe at this juncture we need to vote on advancing the Adeptus Major to Magus.
Farr'Shen's eyes widen a bit at the sudden proclamation. Adeptus Major, your work has been exemplary and we have been too long in recognizing your accomplishment. Welcome, Magus Farr'Shen.

The door to the Council Chambers opens as Zanthia is escorted into the room.

"Welcome Fatespinner. We are almost done our planning. We require a few of your masters to work with our forces as we scoure the mountainsides for our ArchMage and the King. As we focus our effort on that region, we expect heavy resistance from Elementals and the Moutain folk. Do not misunderstand us, we believe that both sides will suffer great casualties, but we will not fail to find every hole. every nook and every cranny where the ArchMage could put up a defensible position. We will not return to the Breach, the Colonel will be re-taking that, hopefully."

"If you have any questions, now is the time, if not we leave at first light."

"Yes of course, Magus Rhialto. I will send a message to the Enclave in Ral'Endas. They have only one master but several skilled Keepers that should be able to assist." Zanthia takes a steadying breath. "I also have bad news; the reach of Kava Vale is long: she has attacked the seer Nadja through her visions. She lays unconcious in my Enclave, Master Quynn is watching over her. We have been unable to wake her thus far. I feel I must travel to the Breach myself and end this malevolence."

After the conclusion of the meeting, Zanthia hurried back to the Earthweaver's guild to have the preparations made to depart and get some much needed rest before morning.

Laurent notes the Lore-Teacher. "Ah, vell met Bruder." He removes a scroll and hands it over. "Zis ist zhe veport I haz given to yon Home Guard ja? Zhey vill be coordinating zhe tactics ve used zhere to allow zhem to ztop zee constructs." He tilts his head and recalls. "Zhe Arch-Magi vound zome of hiz most powervel magic...vell...zhort of zee target, a lot. Zo even a Magic can vail...but zubtle und minor vorked, intreging ja?"

He prepares to head out and then pauses..."My regards to von Council, and tell Mephisto He Was Right. Exzuse but I am zummoned to ze Court. As zhe Crown command ve do Obey. Merry Met Bruder." He bows and then head off for his required Third Duty.
