Mechanical Trap Clarifications.

Recently, I had a discussion concerning about Mechanical Traps and how they function inside the game for PCs, which led to me finding their description in the current book a bit vague and leading to two different interpretations.

One understanding of Mechanical Traps was that a single trap could effect an area of indeterminate size and shape determined by 1 or several objects made to represent the flavor of trap. So multiple objects could be tossed out or dropped from one trigger. ( example: a trap is triggered "causing a roof to collapse" represented by several pillows (or other rep) to be dropped or thrown, either by 1 or more NPCs or by some kind of larp safe mechanism.)

Using the same example, the other perspective that was offered in this discussion was that a mechanical trap only has 1 "pillow, packet, or projectile" per trap unless there are multiple people to help make the trap area bigger. So the trap would require the use of many NPCs, each holding only 1 "pillow," to drop or throw and any sort of mechanism to assist in dropping or throwing multiple "pillows, packets, or projectiles of any kind" would not be allowed.

Could I please get clarification on this?

Thank you.
