Membership Time!! (2013)

Howdy, it's getting towards the end of the year, which means that it's Membership time! Your membership dues go to offsetting the cost for our insurance policy for the year. We have to pay a fee for every member that we have and have to have our payment in by the beginning of the year, so the sooner you send in your membership, the better. You can, of course, pay it after the year has already begun, but we still have to pay for you by the end of December, so delaying eats into budget for making site reservations until we get the majority of memberships paid.

All players, Staff, Plot, PCs, and NPCs, housing a character in Seattle, must have a membership. Membership costs $15, and may be paid at gamedays, events, or by Paypal to paypal@alliance-seattle.com or via our website (you may need to scroll down, there's a weird spacing thing in some browsers). If you'd like to pay by check, send me a PM or an email to manager@alliance-seattle.com, and I'll send you an address.

Here's why we have a Membership fee: We are required by contract with Mike V. to make sure our players are insured while at games in case anyone gets injured. In the past, we've done that through the BSA, but this year we're getting a private insurance policy and dropping our BSA affiliation. Regardless of how it's done, to be insured costs us money. So once a year this comes up, and usually a bunch of people slack on it until we quit asking, but we really can't afford to cover the people who don't pay for themselves. So like most chapters, we have to deal with Membership and Membership Fees. If we don't get everyone to pay for themselves, we'll have to increase game fees for a few events and make everyone pay for it, so please get yours in.

To encourage players to pay their membership as soon as possible, those people with memberships paid by the first of the year will receive 15 Goblin Stamps. Starting January 1st, 2013, no player may spend Goblin Stamps to purchase missed games or monthly blankets until their membership fee is paid. Buying a 2013 Membership will also cover you for the rest of 2012, so if you were putting off getting a 2012 Membership because the year is almost up, getting a 2013 Membership now is just what you need!
