Do these rituals work together? If so, do they need to be on the same item?
JoaT: "The character also counts as having Healing Arts, Herbal Lore, Create Trap, and Read Magic for the purpose of Identifying production items."
Merchant Insight: "The Merchant Insight Ritual allows a character, if they have the prerequisite skill, to identify Potions, Alchemy, Battle Magic scrolls, and Trap Globes in 3 seconds (if within a Location with this Ritual) or 15 seconds (if they bear an item with this Ritual) instead of the normal required identification duration."

I would say they work together, much like Eternal Resolution combos with Heroic Interception. One gives you a Resolute and the other triggers off a Resolute. If one ritual gives you the benefit of Identification, and the other gives you benefits while identifying, I don’t see why they wouldn’t work together.
