Anyone out there know anything about Hudy Gurdys?

I have just purchased one and was told it needs tuning... Also looking at photos new strings.... I know nothing about them as of yet and would love help....

Anyone?
 

You should be able to use a guitar tuner for it, you just need to know the notes to tune it for.
 
And that is the rub.... I have a never played any sting instrument .... :-/
