New Players and Game Days

Hey all, I tried this larp out a long long time ago (I think back in 2008-2009) and NPC'd once, and never came back (mainly due to financing), and now I'm interested again in coming, how ever the next event that's being held I won't be able to go to since another LARP is sharing that weekend that I frequent. My question to you all was, is it alright for new characters/players to go to a Faire/Game day/one day event (however you want to call it)?

Also, on a side note, would anyone know where one can get a good looking false beard?

It is just fine for a new player to come to a game day. You will have to create a character in the system, by emailing logistics@alliance-seattle.com. You will need a copy of the rulebook. It can be found here on pdf for like $6: http://www.double-dragon-ebooks.com/sin ... x=55&y=103. To NPC you can just show up.

For a beard, I recommend finding a local shop when possible.
In Beaverton, we have Stage West / Costume Avenue (sadly, their website bites because they have not been able to take a lot of time to work on it) http://www.costumeavenue.com/.
In Seattle, try http://www.costumecity.com/. Other Seattle locals probably have some local places to recommend.

Neither shop had beards that didn't seem to come with a costume :/
