New show on History channel, starts March 12

WARRIORS

A Green Beret, currently serving with Special Forces, delves into the weapons and fighting styles of ancient cultures. Should be interesting to most of the LARP crowd.

I could have sworn I saw this guy hosting a similr show either on history already or maybe it was on Science channel. The episode in question showed followed the campain of william wallace and went into details about the weapons, mindset, and motovations of the time.

I agree Bill,

I remembered seeing a show quite similar to this before. They also did Gladiators, Roman Army, and Celts.

When I saw the preview I actually thought it was the exact same show....

Good to know I am not loosing my mind.

Perhaps it's just a new season of an already existing show. The TV ads sounded like it was new though. Perhaps the ones you and PoeticMisfit mention were one-shot specials and not actually a series.

I hope this guy falls on a spear.....

Believe it or not I auditioned to host this show early last year, I came up a tad short. There was some other guy that got the part first, then I was going to be that back up guy incase it fell through. Then terry Schappert came along and got the part moving me out of the picture completely.

Lol for what it is worth, I told the producers and my friends down at the history channel i would fight Him one on one in hand to hand combat for the host position..... They chuckled and said they would pass it along but i have not heard anything yet.. Still waiting Terry....with envy and bitterness...

Good news is, if/when they do the Roman and Greek episodes (which i think they may have already done the roman one without us) they were going to use the group im with "www.thegreekwarriors.com" same group used in "Engineering an Empire, Alexander the great" and "the last stand of 300". Also used for "the rise and fall of the spartans".

But i was so close this time.. so close....

Now i may very well get sued for saying this, but "military channel" also has a show out called "warriors"

They did a show on Attila ( i rooted against him the hole time, hate Attila, frigging bandit sucker )
Richard the lion heart, Samurai, Spartacus, and I believe Napoleon so far. And of coarse Alexander the great. go to military channel .com

They are doing one for Gengas Kahn and also Vlad Tepes (Dracula). In the near future.

There's a new show coming out on Spike too called "Deadliest Warriors" that attempts to recreate fights involving the greatest warriors in history.
