October 2007 Event

I need to know so I can get my plane tickets and day off of work. :)

The listed date has not yet been confirmed, so please to not make concrete plans just yet. We will make an announcement once the date has been confirmed.

As an FYI, we are workingon a labor day event as well as a November event. Oregon already has an event scheduled in October, and we are not wanting to step on their month (not to mention one of our plot members is kind of having a very important life event in October and would be very absent). Also in the works are Tavern nights for December and January and another 3-day in February over Presidents day weekend. All dates will be given and confirmed soon.

Tavern Nights are sleep over type deals I would assume. Kind of like a game day but overnight?

Just an FYI I would most likly not attend a labor day event since that is The most deadly weekend of driving in the year.

I wouldn't say "sleepover." I would say a game day usually taking place in aspecific location. More RP based, usually. They often take place taverns.

So.. there is a seattle event early september, an Oregon one in october, and another seattle one in november?

That's the plan -

1: Aug 31- Sept. 3rd. (Labor Day) 3-day weekend at Sheppard.
2: November 9-11. Sheppard.
6: August 22-24 (2008) at Sheppard.

1,2,and 6 are confirmed right now. There are, as you can see by thedeleted ones, there are 3 others in the works. One for President's day weekend, one for April 4-6 (both at Miller) and we have a free weekend in May for Rogie, but it's looking like it may abutt some other events (Mothers day and Baycon) so we are trying for the one before Baycon... oh, and the pass would be open so getting to Rogie would only be slightly longer than getting to Sheppard.

So.. are we continuing to go to Sheppard for a while because of plot or because miller isnt available? Also.. (If you know yet) will these events, ig, be back at the pass or not? And do we know if there will be more boyscouts at those times? They did a very good job at staying out of the way an what not but it was somewhat intrusive when we are trying to rp or fight and they are sitting there on the fence watching us.. >_< lol...

The Boy scouts will not be there when we are again. Thismeans we would have full use of the site, unhindered. We are using Sheppard because it's an awesome site. And! Miller is not available at the times we have Sheppard.

IG, the games will not be back at Whistler's pass. That was a one shot. The future will see other places as well, but the Crossroads will likely be the location of the next event, but very possibly *not* in the adventurer's quarter... all of that is up to plot.

I must point out that for us Oregon people Sheppard is alot farther and out of the way for us. It's around 100 more miles than Millers. I can do Millers round trip with one tank of gas in my truck. Sheppard took a almost a whole tank and then five more gallons of gas.

We are aware that it's about 80 miles farther for the southern folks, and that's unfortunate; however, we don't book our sites based on proximity and convenience- we book them mainly based on what the site has to offer and when it is available. Case in point:

So while we understand that the extra drive may be cost-prohibitive and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience it is not likely that we will be able to change the booking methodology for our sites to accommodate the issue.

Personally, I have found that for the long drives to Oregon's site carpooling and sharing the cost evenly makes it far less painful- usually it ends up being cheaper than my solo drives to the Seattle sites despite being 3-4 times (170-185 miles one-way) farther.

It looks like the next Seattle event that I will be able to make will be the Novenber event. There is no way I can get labor day weekend off. I had already requested the 26th-28th of October off.

Would it be possible to not list event dates on the main website until they are confirmed?

So, no event in October? How is the Duke going to get his shipment!? ;) I guess I will need to charge more for an expedited shipment.

Thanks for the info! These dates you provided (1, 2, and 6) are rock solid and will not move?

Hmm....

For me, I am going to the week-long in August, so that would make a "no-go" for me as far as the West Coast event goes, mostly due to work time-off issues. :-\ I can try but no guarantees. >_>

Labor Day weekend is probably a "no way in hell"; driving is bad, flying is worse. But I loves them 3-days, so we'll see.

November, Jan, and Feb should be good to go.

I am glad there are more events scheduled, that's for sure. =D Thanks for all the hard work, too (Staffers, NPC's). Much appreciated.

As long as those dates are solid, I can start booking flights/time off's. =D

I could go to the September event if I got a ride from somebody but I will probably have to NPC.

My Fiancee will need the car for the upcoming Seattle game (Aug. 31 - Sept. 3) so I need a ride.

1. Is anyone available to help me get a ride from the Everett area?

2. Will that ride have room for me to bring some of Alavatar's liquor?

The earlier I know the earlier I can start taking orders. Thanks!
