My likelihood of attending a Seattle gameday due to distance notwithstanding, I am more likely to attend a given game day if there is something in the announcement to excite me about it. Some sort of "prequel" or "Next Episode:..." type of flavor. When I hear that a game day is going to occur, and there are no specifics announced, I tend to think that the game day exists for its own sake, and may be planned as late as the night prior or even that morning, which decreases the expectation that I will enjoy the game, as compared to, say, attending an airsoft event, seeing a movie, or taking care of housework. It would also give me a good idea of how to get the most enjoyment out of the game day. For instance, if it were hinted or otherwise advertised to be a dungeon-crawl, I would have the idea that I would get more enjoyment out of it by playing Gregor, while if it were hinted or advertised as a wilderness exploration, I would likely feel that I could enjoy it more as Kai. If it were a military op, Whisper might be a more fun choice. Likewise, if there is a certain level of scaling to the game day, it would encourage people to play characters within that intended range, or decide that they'd rather NPC.Bond said:I'm posting this now so that maybe we can get more PC's at the Game days. As Dave stated we are trying to hold them every two weeks, same game time, same game place (hopefully not for long). Let me post some dates for the every two weeks thing.
Saturday July 29th
Saturday Aug. 12th
Saturday Aug. 26th
If this changes, we will get a post up to let you all know. PC, PC, PC!
Advertising a game day should be more than "we're having them, please show up", if you want to get people excited about the game, and let the players get the most they can out of them.
