Pipe Foam

Does anyone know a good place to get 5/8" pipe foam? I have been to Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware and everything they have is too thin.
Thanks ahead of time.

funny...she asked for 5/8" hum...

Why is that funny? The rule book says 5/8" wall thickness for foam on weapon construction. Am I missing something? Because it's quite possible that I am.

Thanks for the link, Gareth.

The link is to 1/2" foam. I thought the same thing at first, then checked the link.

The 1/2" is the inner diameter. If you read the description the wall thickness is 5/8".

Contrary to public opinion, sometimes buying things requires the ability to read. :-)

how come it doesn't list the length of the tubes at those links? how long are they?

$6.49 per pack of 4

This stuff works but be warned it isn't usually self sealing so you have to be a bit more careful with making sure you tape it well together.

okay so i ordered some of this foam and tried it but i have noticed that this foam seems much harder than what i would think would pass. It does have give but i dont really know if its enough. Has anyone had this problem before. I really don't want my weapon to fail so does any one know if there is a way to soften the foam, or does it just soften over time?

did it pass?

Beating the foam (such as when using the weapon) seems to soften it up a bit.

So the way to make the foam softer so that it will pass is to use a failed weapon in combat for a while?

its not considered using a failed weapon if we just beat you with it out of game

yes actually i did pass. Turns out after i let it sit in the back of my car for a few days the foam got softer. not sure what made it do that. At first i thought it was the heat or maybe just the duct tape but then i realized the rest of the foam i had bought that i hadnt used had got softer too. i'm wondering if it just needed to be exposed to air for a while, either that or magical gnomes came in and fixed it.
