You can still see the giant cross from the highway, like the Hollywood sign... They used to light it purple for lent and red for xmas up until a few years back...
 
My cousins drove to my house one summer to stay for a week, and they saw the cross lit up on the way.

One of them told his teacher they drove past Jerusalem. He was 10 at the time.

That would be awesome to fix up and run a larp out of. Hopefully painting over the bible verses first.
 
I've been there. If you talk to the nuns, they're pretty chill about letting you go in and take photos.

However, it is eerie as hell there, heh.
 
I totally want to run a zombie game there.
