The Brotherhood of the Star
hereby formally announces its opening for business. Our goal is to provide goods and services of a magical nature for a reasonable cost to those who seek them.
A list of our available services follows:
Goods: The Brotherhood of the Star maintains a limited supply of nonritual magical goods to be sold to the public at a rate of twice the basic cost to produce them. Availability is limited to what we have in stock.
Ritual Services: The following prices are standard for all ritual services-
Identification: The cost for ritual identification is four silver pieces per item, to be paid before the results of the identification are revealed. This price is non-negotiable, and must be paid regardless of the results of the identification. Only the guildmaster has the authority to waive the identification fee.
Circle time: Time in the guild's circle of power may be purchased at a rate of one gold piece per ten minutes. Ritual scrolls to be cast in the circle must have first been examined a guildsman of at least Journeyman rank, and no ritual that is flawed in such a manner that a backlash would affect the circle or its investitures may be performed without prior consent of the guildmaster.
Rituals: The Brotherhood will perform rituals at a cost of one gold piece or one reagent per ritual performed, or one ritual scroll per three rituals performed. The customer is expected to provide the scrolls and reagents needed for the ritual itself in addition to the costs listed above. By arrangement with the guildmaster the Brotherhood will acquire the materials for the ritual, however the cost will be much higher so as to include the cost of the scrolls and reagents, as well as the time spent gathering them. In this case a sizable deposit will be required in order to guarantee the contract.
Other services: By arrangement with the guildmaster, the guild may be able to provide other services as listed below. Services not listed below may be also available; see the guildmaster for details.
Escorts: Personal escorts may be provided at a cost dependant on the time and risk involved. The guildmaster should be consulted for specifics.
Recovery: The Brotherhood may be hired to recover items of value which have been lost or stolen. The basic cost for this is half the value of the item, though this is subject to change depending on the identity of the item and the risk involved with its recovery.
