Pre-registration closes on SUNDAY, MARCH 29

In order to make logistics run smoother, we will be closing pre-registration earlier than before.

From now on, in order to pre-register, you must do so by the Sunday night before the event.

The purpose of pre-registering is:

  • To make Logistics run smoother. By giving them more time to print the character cards, pull the tags, and otherwise prepare, we can have all of those who pre-registered with envelopes full of all your tags and craftsman coins and so on ready for you when you arrive. Of course, this assumes you also send us your spell requests and other requests.

To allow Plot to insert personal information. By pre-registering early, Logistics can send Plot a list of which characters are coming, what their craftsman skills are and what races they are. Plot can then prepare reports, personal letters, racial information or other plot-related info in your pre-registration envelope.

To determine treasure. By getting a basic idea of how many players we can expect, we can have the treasure all ready in enough time (since the treasure policy is based on the number of characters and their average level).

The advantage to you is:

  • You get a cheaper rate and don't have to pay the door price.

You get a pre-registration envelope handed to you when you show up and won't have to wait in line (assuming you also sent in your spell requests and so on).

You might get cool plot information in your envelope.

What about people who play multiple weekends back to back. Does this mean they just need to pre-register early and get their character transfered latter? Because the thing is that for those of us who do that often we come back exhausted late Sunday nights and wouldn't really have a chance to pre-reg before that earlier deadline. Is there a reason this deadline couldn't be Monday for the purpose of accommodating these sort of folks?

Well, I think the most important thing is to pay before the deadline so we know you're coming and can start the prep. Logistics understands that sometimes there are players who attend events back to back...

We will accomodate players who are attending back-to-back events. We just need to communicate, that's all.

Printing a card can happen later. First we need to know that you will defintely be there.

Even if you are paying at the door, always let Logistics know that you will be there so your card can be printed before you arrive.

I'll be sure to send in my payments ahead of time if I'm attending events back to back. But the whole point of pre-reg for many people, or at least me is that while printing tags ahead of time is nice. The price break is the biggest reason I do it...

You receive the price break because it allows us to get things done ahead of time. The earlier Logistics gets settled the sooner we can send all the PC info to Plot so they have time to come up with wonderful and amazing tidbits for specific characters, races and craftsman skills.

Right, I think we understand one another. As long as you guys understand and work with those of us who do play weekends back to back as far as getting updated character cards in a timely/reasonable manner I'm excited to hit a few HQ events once I'm back on the EC. :) Thanks for the assurance that the pre-pay can come before the actual card is sent.

It shouldn't be a problem. We are looking forward to having you in Ashbury again!
