The 9/28 deadline is in place so we can prepare pre-logistics tags, and print character cards the weekend before the event.
Perhaps most importantly for you, it's also when we are generating the treasure for the event based on the player numbers and levels pre-registered. Of course we will adjust the treasure to match policy for later changes in attendance, but those adjustments will be in boring stuff. Like copper. All the cool things (like items!) will be based on the numbers we have by the deadline - so pre-register if you want to see more cool treasure!
With a Crossroads event the weekend immediately before ours, we'll make some allowances for characters that would be affected by that - applying blankets, transfering the character after the event, etc. If you pre-register and we have a copy of your character on record, we'll use that for determining treasure; if they're a higher level when we get the updated records we'll adjust the weekend treasure accordingly. As much as possible, please pre-logist spells, production, magic items, etc. so we can get as much prepared in advance as possible.
