Private Rooms, Anyone?

I've just pre-regged for the April and May events, but am curious to know the proper approach to reserving a private room in the tavern. Is it the same as last season, or has anything changed? - Dave

...and if its the same as last season, a post explaining what that policy is would be awesome. There's a small group of "haven't played HQ since Lindenmere" people from up north interested, but electricity is important. The staff went out of its way to be accomodating while NPCing, but since we're thinking about PCing, different standards probably apply.

Sorry, we've been debating it. Eric should be posting the official word soon, but basically it's going to be this:

The private rooms have electricity and are insulated. They are definitely worth more. So we're going to charge $40 extra for these rooms. That's $20 a night, or $5 a person if you get 4 people. We think that's worth it.

I'll be placing a new button on the pre-reg page for this soon.

Okay, after much discussion by the members of Faire Play and key staff at HQ, here is the official policy regarding lodging:

Private Rooms
We currently have three (3) private rooms directly off the Common Room. They are all insulated and have electricity. We are hoping to have doors installed for all of them before the first event, otherwise you can hang a curtain in the doorway. Private rooms may be reserved with your paid pre-registration for $40. If you have 4 people in the room, that is $10 each for the event or $5 each a night, so it is a great deal. One person in your group must pay the entire $40 as we can't keep track of who paid what for which room. Note that one room is already taken, so as of this posting there are two (2) left.

Cabins
We currently have three (3) player cabins. Cabins are not insulated nor do they have electricity, however we are planning to insulate and run electrical wiring to the cabins this summer. If you have four players who have pre-registered, you can reserve a cabin at no extra cost. However, please note that cabins are intended to lodge 6 players, so even if you have 4 people pre-regg'ed and are reserving a cabin, please fit in a couple more people.

Common Room
There are several bunk beds and some electricity in the Common Room. Lodging in Common Room is "first come, first served." However, please do not purposefully take up more space than you need.

Guilds
Lodging in the guilds is in-game and at the discretion of the Guildmaster / Guildmistress.

Tents
Personal tents may be pitched by players at their convenience.

Please note that we are working on getting insulation and electricity to the cabins this year. In addition, we are trying very hard to raise the money to build a cabin large enough to lodge 15+ players. If you would like to help us reach our goal, there is a donation button on the HQ payment page specifically for the large cabin.

HQ players have always been pretty considerate regarding lodging and I expect that to remain true. If there are any problems, issues or questions, let me know.
