Quick Prop Q's

Okay, so I bought those little walmart bubble things for fitting my potions & such. Now I'm left trying to figure out which bandolier sling to order to fit the bubble containers. Is it the riffle or shotgun model I want?

Also, I want to remake my short sword and dagger from scratch. Can anyone tell me the pieces I need in terms of material & thickness? I know I was talking about this a little at the last event. Unless I'm mistaken copper pipe was one suggestion?

Yeah, I'm close to clueless on this, just want to make sure they'll pass and be easy to use.

The rulebook has a bit of good information on it, regarding how-tos and all of that. However, I've found some websites to give you other views on the materials and building process:

A good video tutorial: http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to-compl ... ng-214236/
Simple, plain overview (With Materials!): http://www.thealmightyguru.com/Boffer/B ... neric.html
Also, a weapon maker gave me this information:
1/2” or 3/4" schedule 40, 600 psi PVC pipe... All of the weapon blades are made with 5/8" closed cell foam padding, as well as 2 inches of high-density open cell foam padding for the tips and pommels. Our smithy uses high-grade 665 and 672 Gaffers tape (Or duct tape)
Also, I've read a bit about top coats to prolong weapon life:
...weather sealed with a latex coating, a minimum of two coats of acrylic paint and a professional topcoat.

Hope this helps! I've been working on making weapons of my own as well. If you live South of the River, feel free to bounce styles or ideas off each other sometime.

EDIT: Found another site with a tutorial, as well as an excellent supply list and where to get things online: http://liveactionroleplaying.org/?p=14

Rifle :) and I will get back to you on the rest, there is a bot around here by Mr. Stana that has a link to a great website that sells Kitespar and perhaps even the foam that is needed. The foam is the tricky part, as you want it to fit nice and snug.

Yeah, the rulebook actually didn't help me as much as one might think. I mean, the actual assembly isn't the issue at all. I assembled my last swords just fine. I just need the right materials this time around. I don't want to buy foam that's too snug & make a sword that won't pass. That's why I'm asking about the suggested thickness of the foam, pipe, and such.

And thanks, now I can order my sling! *so happy* ^___^

(And south of the river? Not sure what you mean, I live in the Northwestern burbs.)

South of the river is South of the MN river, like Burnsville is ;).

See, when you said river I was thinking of the Mississippi in which case the whole north/south thing would be a bit confusing.
