What we need:
NPCs for Saturday! We will be running a mod based in the Wylands for any interested con goers and could use some npcs!! Please send an email to owner@alliancedenver.com if interested in attending and helping out. You earn both GS and DS for doing so!!

THX!!

Will you guys be having a table anywhere? And is there any other details about what you will be running, a teaser, or any other info you would care to have plugged? I ask because I have various media outlets I would like to advertise this leading up to the con.

Also I would like to make a piece of spot-art or this (for said advertiseing) so any direction you can give me for that to be on-theme would be great : )

There is an Alliance Denver table in the Dealers Area (Table 58, http://www.rockymountainfurcon.org/images/stories/dealer den layout.png), and Mods will be run out of the Grand Ballroom (Rocky Mountain Event Center) The table is there all weekend. Jesse, do you want to get me Flyers, literature, etc that I can put out on Friday? Are you planning to have the table manned the whole weekend, or just Saturday?

I've already spoken with Jesse and my booth will also be available for any materials. If anyone is in-costume or whatnot and wants to meander over my way (or say "hi"), feel free. I'll be there all days.

I'll be at the con, but I'm not sure I'll be able to commit to assisting in an NPC capacity. :-\

I will be present at the table ALL WEEKEND LONG BABY!! Saturday morning, I will not be present as I have a previous coffee demo planned, but will try my hardest to return ASAP.
Dani will run the first slot until I return. Sunday, we might see some interest, so I will leave the weapons behind but probably take the props/costumes with me on Saturday night... probably... lol

I'm covering the Alliance table on Saturday from approximately 10-5 (hours I have arbitrarily made up, and need to discuss with Jesse). Mac is going to join me from about 12-5. At most shows, the morning hours are usually pretty slow, so I should fine by myself in the morning. If there are a few people who wouldn't mind covering the table from say 12-2 during lunch, that'd be a win.

Thanks!
Trace

I'll be there from Friday to Sunday morning, I'll fill in between mods and putting ice on my face, so if you need anything I'll be there too.

That's great all. We have had much interest in NPCing. If you contacted me (owner address) about NPCing, please show up at 10 AM, in garb, with basic NPC black underneath or with you. If you have an animal mask or makeup to wear ahead of time, that would rock. I will have extra masks, but am not bringing makeup. For those who contacted me ahead of time, I have free Assistant passes waiting for you. When you show up Saturday AM, I can leave them at OPS for pickup, or just come to the Grand Ballroom on the map Zach posted above. Thx All! Looking forward to it!

I'll see you Friday night.

Jesse and team, thank you so much to your group for being at RMFC. It's been a long time since I LARPed, and it was a real pleasure to get to swing a boffer around again (even if no one had a staff on hand. *g*). I'm very much hoping I'll be able to make it down for the August weekend as an NPC!

John-Paul, welcome to Alliance! So delighted to read that you had a good time playing with us at the con. I wasn't in the modules, but I was working our table in the dealers' room - We might have met there.

Just FYI so you have this in mind as you're dreaming of your PC whom we're looking forward to meeting later -- Alliance style staff fighting is quite a bit different from how one might fight with a staff in the real world. The Alliance style requires that you keep both hands on the middle 3' of the staff while using it. The cost for the Staff skill is cheap, so it makes an excellent blocking weapon particularly for caster classes or artisan characters.

If you'd like to join us any Sunday from 2:00-5:00 at Ladybug Park in Arvada for our fighter practice (full details posted weekly in the Alliance LARP Denver Facebook group), there's usually somebody out there with a staff physrep who might be willing to let you spar with it and try out that style before you commit to it for your character.

There are also a number of fantasy races within the Alliance world - like sarr, our feline race - which are prohibited from buying the Staff skill. So just keep those things in mind as you're brainstorming character ideas.

Looking forward to meeting you at Alliance!

Traceroo, thank you for the info. Many people explained similar regarding staves at the con, as well as pointing out that the staff cannnot be used in a thrusting manner. That will take some getting used to for me. In Amtgard, a properly capped staff could be used as such. The requirement about grip though is held in common with my earlier LARP experience so that should come back naturally.

I have no plans for Sunday so I may try to make it out to the fighter practice if I can.

As a recap to this post, thank you to everyone who came out and helped run the table, mod, and fighter practice Sunday!! You guys rocked my socks!!
