Saps?

Hi,

I was just wondering if constructing a weapon specifically for waylaying is covered within Alliance weapon construction rules? Like a sap.

If yes, then in what form does that take?

Not any more. Saps used to be a thing, but they were removed in the current edition of the rules. You can make a rock look like all sorts of things and use that, though.

So rocks can be used in a melee fasion as long as they're constructed correctly?

Or are rocks only allowed to be used up close like that in waylays?

You can throw a rock as a thrown weapon during combat. See pg. 83 of the rulebook for more info and construction guidelines etc.

Rock (thrown weapons) are only good at range and for waylay.
