It's been stated that Saps can or should be repped by a weapon designed similar to a Rock thrown weapon, but separately tagged. link It's also now covered under Weapon Construction. However, the rulebook seems to imply that a Sap is a one-handed small blunt weapon, per the description in OHB and Small Weapon. Wouldn't that suggest that a Sap is essentially a dagger with bulgy bits? TMK, waylay doesn't require a skill to use a weapon at all (and, according to the skill chart, has no prereqs), so why would OHB and small weapon give you the ability to use an object that is only usable with a skill that requires no skill in the weapon to use?

This post is to inform you that your question is currently being discussed by the ARC and once some clarification has been made, will be posted here (removing this post). Depending on the level of clarification and discussion (and potential involvement of the Owners or other national staff, if needed) this may take time.

After a vote from the owners to confirm, all references to the weapon type "Sap" should be removed, including at least the following locations:

Sap is mentioned is under "Waylay", "Small Weapon", "Riposte" (as an exception), "One Handed Blunt", "Parry" (as an exception), and the weapon construction rules (along with Rocks and Thrown Weapons).

There are already existing alternatives with which to waylay which are small and concealable.
