Seeking Peace

Feyrain

Newbie
Fellows of Ashbury,
I have not previously thought to reach out to my friends through a dream, but this past year has opened my eyes to the reality of many things I thought were only stories told to children to tuck them in at night. This winter has greatly disquieted me, for many reasons, and I am hoping that some might help me find an inner peace to quiet the turmoil around us in this time of war. I recall the gathers where we might sing or dance together, be it around the fire or in the tavern, and it is easier to think on the experiences I have had. I think of walks that we have had in the woods, and perhaps that may come again. Is there anyone interested in achieving a calm of unity between those who are to be present in the April gathering of Ashbury?
With hopeful thoughts,
Victoria Galloway

Vicky!

Good to know you're still kick in! After what we went through I'm sure the crew would love to relax by the fire ..also a good time to remember those who fell and can't join us.

Anything to promote unity of the people in Ashbury right now would be wonderful. Even if it's something small, the feeling of togetherness would be nice to see in my fellow Ashbans who are able to make it to the gathering. Particularly since I'm fairly certain no one of the Flaming Balls but myself will get there, as I keep losing them in the mists.

Victoria,
Though I cannot speak for the rest of my barrony I would enjoy a fire with singing. I believe it would be a welcome comfort during our time in Fairedale.

Drums beating rythms sung out into dreaming
Rain falls to wash away another days screaming
Roads narrow inwards to cross roads ahead
And fires lit by living to honor the dead

A winters long sundering across many lands
And bitter cold makes thin the count of who stands
And time wastes away as the days are still streaming
Like a drum beating rythms out into a dreaming....

Simon! I never thought I'd hear your voice in this dream! It gladdens my heart to hear it. I have missed you over the winter months - you and your lessons. I can swing a little harder, but I haven't exactly had much of a chance to practice blocking.

Yes I hear the dreams as a far off whisper. I will let them wash over me from time to time. The winter has been One but the deep calm is fleeting. The dead calm calls as the hand trembles. Soon enough roads cross. Till my hand rises, the song stops and the dance begins anew.

~Simon

I must begin this dream with a confession and apology that I may not remember this conversation once I have awoken, but despite my foggy memory I feel driven to respond. Victoria, I do believe I remember meeting you, and I am happy to see that your heart harbors a benevolent attitude that values unity! Especially by means of song and fellowship! If my experiences this winter have taught me anything, it is that music and joy can bring the hearts and minds of anyone and everyone together in peace and renaissance. I look forward to returning to Ashbury and continuing to spread strength and contentedness by means of melody and harmony. I will do my best to remember and seek you out, then devote my all to add into your song! Many thanks for preemptively vocalizing this desire for uplifting music!

Somehow my dreams are clotted with mutterings of the naive.

Life is struggle and conflict. Peace is an illusion of the weak. "Peace" is only valuable for honing your skills and planning strategy and tactics, while your enemies idle their time in frivolity.

Perhaps this is why Icenia is in such turmoil and always has been.

Lord Find'rth, I find your reaction to this disquieting. I'm sure all of the people who can hear this dream have been preparing all winter, and are able to practice. I simply think that it is foolish to be entirely grim about the situation. Continuing to view things as though they will never get better will only continue to bring misfortune to us. I'd rather live in turmoil with hopes than stagnation without a determination to make things better.
