Seeking Witnesses

Lurin

Duke
To the...people...residing in Fort Miller,

I seek witnesses and am willing to compensate you in gold for your time, specifically I need folks who arrived in Fort Miller when the mist walkers did so, especially if you stayed at the tavern.

- Jir, Former Tavern Keeper of Fort Miller

Goodman Jir,

I happened to be residing at Hope's Reach for a year and and half ago, as such I do remember the goings on at that time, and would be available for you.

Kind Regards,

If i may ask... what mistwalkers do you speak of?

-Lok of Harbors Far

I believe they speak of Harbors Far, Lok. Gathering by the rather rude remark regarding trials made by the man elsewhere.

-Roven

To be fair, Mistwalkers has become a catch all term for anyone that has arrived through the mists, I don't use it myself, nor do I allow neighbors to participate but it seems to be the style nowadays to use the phrase as a slur against travelers from outside the mist.

-Hapen Julian, Honest Farmer

Sir Hapen thank you for your words, they ring with the truth.

Please bear in mind that until recently, it was a universal truth that one could not travel through the mists, it was an impenitrible wall that allowed no passage. At first when people heard that others were able to travel through the mists, they thought that those who claimed to have done it were not right in the head. Afterall, by saying such was to indicate that when one threw something into the air that it would not fall.

Having lived in Roskaria for the majority of my life, I too thought that people who made this claim were not right in the head as well. But as time has gone on, my doubts were shattered. In fact some of our strongest allies have come through the mists.

It has been a little over a year since others have begun to arrive through the mists. The majority of Roskaria, Gaden, and even Pratorak have only heard but rumors, if anything at all, of being able to travel through the mists. So when people refer to "Mistwalkers" there are many connotations associated with it.

But I believe in the words of Sir Hapen, that we should discourage use of the term in a negative way. As to date I have seen little evidence that any other than allies have come through the mists. Evidence that they too wish to lend their strengths against the corrupt. They have fought and died with and for us, and through their personal sacrifices, have proven themselves time and again.
