Can a shield be curved and still be legal?
If one were made to wrap around the arm part way, could it still pass safety check if it were otherwise standard?

I believe that a shield certainly can be curved and still be legal. I'm not sure how extreme you can take it, and you would still need to be able to measure the surface area but it certainly could 'wrap' somewhat.
