Short sword or shield?

So, I'd like to play my dark elf, but in order to do that I need another short sword, or a shield. Two questions:

a) Would anyone be able to make a short sword or a shield by the event? I will pay good prices.

b) Does anyone have a short sword or a shield I can borrow for the May event?
