Silver and copper wanted

All players are encouraged to turn in their coins at logistics for bigger coins!

Trade your copper in for silver and your silver in for gold.

Please help us keep our costs down. If we can recycle coins, it saves us from having to buy more, and then we can use the money for other things (like fixing up the site).

Don't think that by hoarding copper and silver, it will increase the treasure for the weekend because we will have to put out gold instead. It doesn't work that way. If we don't have enough copper and silver, instead of making sure every NPC has coins, only every third will, or every fourth. Yeah, you may get a gold, but you may also get nothing.

NOTE: Don't worry. The Hunt list does NOT contain any items like "the most copper pieces" or anything having to do with coins. ;)

mike,

do you want to trade any of the silver and copper from the guild into gold?

i mean, leave me SOME silver and copper to make change with.. but if you do that, it'll make book-keeping for the guild alot easier..

Yep, no problem.

How evil would that be?

It's been done.

I've got about 5gold worth of silver and copper that I plan to use for my production at logistics. :)

I think I can consolidate my silver into at least one gold.

I'll have to check before Logistics.

I think Jim meant that it would be evil if you ask people to trade in your coins at logistics and then after that, put it on the hunt list....

i wish there was something bigger then a gold sometimes.

green tags can be as big as you want. I'll happily give you a tag for a "Purebred truffle-sniffer Sow" worth 300g if you want in exchange for the coin. (and tell me how you intend to obtain said porcine via a writeup) Finding a buyer IG when you want to cash her in may pose a problem though.

Green tags are typically for things that the PC owns that cannot come into game and could have an IG benefit. They are typically boats/houses/horses/wagons. These items are usually not stealable. The pig thing was an odd example, but I do know that Tom Haswell has a guard dog tag. If someone has bars of gold or silver then that should be physrepped and have a number on it so that anyone with the aqppropriate skill can find the value, and so that they can be stolen. It's not fair to let players walk around with 500 gold worth of gold bars on their tag ring (and presumably on their person) that cannot be stolen.

There are indeed some green tags that can be stolen (like those on wine for example), however I completely agree with Toddo - coin in-game should have weight and volume to it, and be obvious as an ig-stealable item to any who would choose to attempt some thievery. I wouldn't look at somebody's tag ring, I'd be looking through pouches, treasury boxes etc.

That being said, if somebody wants to make us phys reps of gold bars that people can use and turn the coin in instead, that could be neat.

Ooohhhhhh..... that would be neat. I'll look into it.
