I like girls who like to beat on each other, and me, with plumbing supplies in the woods at night in the middle of nowhere. ;)

Woot farmer's fair! are they going to put down a rink? skating on hay sounds kinda difficult.

They'll be skating on concrete under a pavillion.

I never got how that game is played.

I think the rules are pretty loose. I mean, Scott's a referee, for crying out loud! And he certainly didn't go to "Roller Derby Referee School" or anything. :)

Maybe I did.

Actually, the rules are pretty strict on what you can and can't do. They're availabe on the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) website. Most teams in the U.S. use those rules.

go look for them... easy to find...

The basics:

Each team puts 5 women on the track, a pivot, three blockers and a jammer. The pivots and blockers skate in a pack. The jammers start out behind the pack and must move through the pack and then lap the pack. On their second pass, the jammers get one point for each member of the other team they pass legally. This goes on for two minutes, which is called a jam. The entire bout lasts 60 minutes, with 30 seconds between jams. Jammers are the only players that may score points.

It's really pretty simple.

Wow, there's a whole lot more to this than I originally thought.

What position does Dee play?

Deevious von Doom is primarily a jammer, but sometimes blocks. This past Sunday she was elevated to co-captain of her team!
