So this Cap movie

Sebastian Stan as James "Bucky" Barnes.

Do some research Mark!

Hey, maybe The Falcon will be his sidekick in the sequel.

Pro: Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan
Con: The Human Torch as Captain America

Pro: Seeing if the Human Torch can actually act (I believe he can)
Con: Not once will Hugo Weaving refer to Cap as "Mister Rogers"
Pro: HUGO WEAVING!!

On the tail of it, I rather enjoyed this one. I still think Iron Man, Spider-man, Spider-man 2, and Incredible Hulk were better, but this wasn't retched or overly campy. If I have any disappointment, it's that the character is still pretty "young" once he's put on ice. Sadly, I had to see it in 3d, so now I want to go back and see it in proper 2d.

I thought it was fantastic.

Quoted for truth.

I was worried about Chris Evans. I was VERY worried. Turns out I was worried for nothing.

To hell with 3D. Can't wait for that fad to die out...

Chris Evans was great going from the nervous kid to where Cap was at the end of the movie. His test is gonna be in the Avengers movie, where he will likely need to portray the experienced savvy Cap.

I liked this movie a lot. I actually wish there was a little more action and less backstory though. The romance could have completely been done away with, IMO. Not intrinsic to Cap. I also don't know that I was a big fan of all the disintegration rays and could have used a few more actual Nazis for him to fight.

Scott

Scott,

I think the romance was actually included to set him up even FURTHER as the polar opposite of the arrogant, womanizing Tony Stark.

They needed to sell that rivalry BIG TIME... so I can see validity in taking a few movies to set it up.

Plus, sexual politics has long been a point of interest in order to establish the "man out of time" feel, so at least giving him some experiences in that regard would help in the larger story... maybe.

4D. With scratch-n-sniff cards for when something shows on the screen.
silliness continues...
