Some advice on this night

At this time of year the Table is turning and all manners of strange occurrences become common place. Tonight, of almost any night during the year, the veil between the Primal plane and all others is thin and likely to allow creatures and energies to run amuck. I caution all folk to stay indoors, keep the fire banked, the windows shaded, and be very careful about letting strangers into one's house. Make sure to stay indoors after dark and don't venture into the night for any reason; if you must travel, travel in pairs and with a weather-eye toward mischief.

Many of the lesser imps and dervishes which abound on this night can be appeased, thus avoided, with sweets, stories, or baubles. Keep a handful about you at all times. Greater creatures of darkness are not so easily shunned and need greater wardings: garlic, holly, certain mystical poultices, polished wishbones, smooth river rocks, all have certain powers to ward and charm creatures.

There will be a gathering of adventurers at Jara's Tavern in Briarpass and any who seek refuge will find it there (Jara, I'm more than willing to foot the bill for any who wish protection). Furthermore, stay in contact with your neighbors and, if the need arises, arrange to all board up a barn or long-house for communal protection. There are those with magical Warding spells who can and will protect these buildings, seek me out at Jara's Tavern for such magics.

Keep your name about you and be wary of strangers. There are all manner of ghaunts and other creatures who know the power inherent in names and will use them against you. Be careful and Hart hold you.
