In light of changing Out-of-Game lives we have decided to wipe the slate clean in regards to our staff positions. Any current staff member who wishes to keep their position needs to re-apply for it. We ask that anyone who is interested in helping our chapter by filling one of the following positions please send me a pigeon or contact me via phone (231-882-0771). If you want to know more about each position before you apply please contact me and I will answer any of your questions.

The positions available are as follows:

- Committee members(Marshals)

Head of Costumes Committee

New Player Contact

Customer Service Rep/PR Person

All committee head, Donations Coordinator, New Player Contact, and Customer Service positions come with the following requirements:

You must supply contact information that will be posted on our website which consists of a phone # and an e-mail address.
You must have internet access and be able to check your e-mail, our website, and the forums on atleast a bi-weekly basis.

Our staff needs to be informed and available.

If you do not feel that you can meet these requirements but you still want to help out, we can always use more committee members. Also if you just want to help out here and there as time/money/life allows then we are happy to have you. Please let us know.

Thanks to all,

I'd love to be a new player contact, and help you guys with any marshaling you might need.

Paul

Thank you to everyone who has shown an interest in these positions so far. I will be contacting you all soon to talk. If anyone else is interested please contact me as we can always use more help.

In addition to the positions listed above we can also use people for our Plot committee and our Logistics committee. Please let us know if you have interest.

Thanks again,

Wow. So someone who has been a longtime volunteer and marshall for your organization, but does not have email, is no longer acceptable. Oh, I forgot, they can volunteer on an occasional basis. But they needn't expect to hold any permanent position. Is this just a bit discriminatory? Whatever did we do before we had internet?

Most people nowadays have internet, or have access to it, and most of our players make use of it in one fashion or another. It is also the least expensive way for us to do mass communications to our members on a regular basis (our last bill for postage on a mass mailer is one of the reasons we don't do them so often). I do not think it is unreasonable to expect our staff members to get on the boards and keep themselves, and our players, to date on things that concern our chapter. I am sorry if some might feel that this discriminates, but we weighed our options and felt that this was the best way to go.

If you would like directions to your nearest library please contact me via-Email or PM. If you happen to know somone who just cant seem to find the time to get on, or the struggles of life are too overwhelming to log on every now and then, they probibly shouldent have to worrie themselves with staff positions

With much love :D Meeker

Meeker,

I have always respected you as a dedicated and conscientious player and volunteer. You are entitled to your opinion, as I am also. Perhaps you didn't realize the irony of using condescension "If you would like directions to your nearest library please contact me" and then signing your post "with love."

I did not expect any change or positive response to come about because of my posts. Others have tried and also failed. Sometimes, though, you just have to say what you are thinking/feeling.

For the record, these were MY posts, with my name on them, not Mike's.

Arlene
