I got this email today and promised I'd send it along in case anyone in that area was interested:
Hello!
I recently had a conversation with a friend, Frank, who is very involved with LARP. He informed me that I was missing out on a huge opportunity if I did not contact you personally. So I am writing to see if you would be interested in my event, of if there would be any appropriate opportunities for my non-profit organization and yours to work together.
Team Wench, Inc. is a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit that is dedicated to raising money for established charities which promote research or provide support to make people's lives healthier and safer. We are throwing our 5th masquerade ball to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society on 10/29/11 at Michael's Eight Avenue in Glen Burnie, MD. This year's theme is Goblins and Gears - the battle of science against magic! and is based around the idea of a Fae invasion of a Steampunk Ball.
Frank mentioned that those involved with LARP often have to commit to a certain number of volunteer hours. Team Wench is always looking for volunteers, and they are certainly needed for this year's masquerade. However, even if your members have completed all of their volunteer requirements, I would be thrilled if you could find it in your heart to mention our event to them and/or post a link from your website. I also have flyers I could provide for distribution, if you feel that's appropriate. I have always had a great amount of respect for those involved with LARP, and would love to have the opportunity to work with you.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, or check out www.teamwench.org and www.teamwench.org/msfb (check out Multiple Sclerosis Fantasy Ball 2011 on Facebook, as well) for more info. Thank you for taking the time to consider my request. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
