Summer begins

The summer sun peeked across the horizon yesterday and revealed an overturned cart that had been destroyed the previous evening. A circle of stones were still warm where they contained the ashes of last night's fires. Spilled blood on the ground told of a more macabre story. This scene has become all too familiar in recent weeks. Many attacks have taken place across several estates within Warchester and on roads frequented by merchants. The Ducal Fiefs were equally targetted.

Those who resurrected successfully in healer's guilds across Warchester all claimed different stories. Within the estate of Wallington, they were slain by orcs and dire wolves. Within the estates of Stone Glade and Oakwood, Ogres were the enemies. Halifax was accosted by gnolls using necormancy, and Andira was attacked by Bugbears riding giant spiders. Within the Ducal Fiefs, small squads of Kobolds and goblins, who normally are just scouts and thieves, actually committed murder.

As these attacks all happened during the night, a quick response was summoned by morning. The ducal forces, lead by the Duke himself, and assorted knights and nobility, followed the enemies' tracks, finding that they all went to separate locations. Deciding to split his forces, each unit went their separate ways to hunt down the enemy and kill them in their camps.

We will report more information as it comes in.
