Greeting's and salutations from one of the many minds behind Tyr's Folly!
First and foremost, we are all aware that there are many questions as to what exactly this event is all about. So allow me to start there.. For those of you who are affiliated with the many brands of foam sword fighting out there (Amtgard, Dag, Bel, ect) this will be an easy concept for you all. We are hosting what one would consider a "glorified park day" on Saturday, November 8th, running from around 10:30 am to 6pm. The event will be held at Nordic Hearth Farms, at 103 19th Street SE, Loveland Colorado.
So what does that mean to those of you who may be unfamiliar with the concept? Well first of all, there will be much thrashing about with foam swords, and other implements of padded deathy death! There will be tournament style fighting, general "ditching",as well as foam and perhaps live archery events as well.
Next off, there will be several vendors in attendance, who will be happy to supply you with a bevy of interesting goodies and what-nots to fill your days with joy, even if they may lighten your coin purse to a small degree. We will have a cyborg garb maker and do-dad crafter, a couple of leather working ninjas, a godzilla chainmail crafter, and quite possibly a (fill in redonkulous descriptor here) foam weapon crafter in attendance. For those of you who will want to get your chow on, the Blind Peasants will also be on site to vend to your rumble belly styled needs.
In addition to the greatness listed above, we are happy to announce that Dungeons & Drafts will be on hand with a veritable cornucopia of board games and pen and paper games to keep you delighted as you nurse those gaping wounds suffered on the foam battle field of honor. If that isn't enough... they will also be hosting a class on cosplay styled armor/costume making!! If you have not yet seen what they are capable of, prepare to be amazed!
And finally, as if all this wasn't enough to make this your perfect day out and about, we have TWO.. yes TWO talented artists of the Fire Poi variety who are willing to delight you with their skills. Be sure to complement then and treat them well, however, because I can't vouch to their level of willingness to set you on fire if you are not!!
At any rate, we hope that you have the time to come out and join us and make this a Saturday worth remembering. And if you are not.. well we will probably just sit back, drink whatever spirits we may have brought and talk about you behind your back!
