Honors of Valdanis
These Honors are badges that are awarded by the Kingdom of Valdanis to those people who have been proven to possess qualities of the ten virtues listed in this document. These virtues are held in high regard by the nobility of the kingdom and anyone possessing one of these Honors would be looked at favorable. These Honors can be awarded to anyone in the kingdom regardless of station. When you receive an honor you may display it in any way you choose unless you are a squire as described below.
The Trials of Knighthood
When you first become a squire you will receive a red pennant to be worn on the right hand side of your belt as a symbol of who you are. You will be put through many tests to prove your worthiness to become a knight. Part of these tests include earning all of the Honors of Valdanis. A squire is not allowed to display the Honors they receive in any way. This is part of the test of Humility, all others can display them, including commoners, but they can not. When a squire has passed all of their tests and earned all of the Honors they will turn their pennant and Honors over to their liege. At their knighting ceremony they will receive their pennant back with all Honors attached. This is a symbol that they are now a knight.
The Ten Honors:
• Justice (Black): The moral principle by which actions are determined as just or
unjust.
- fairness, impartiality, lawfulness, truth
Awarded to those who uphold the laws with fairness and impartiality.
• Trust (Copper): A confident reliance on the integrity, veracity, or justice of another.
- confidence, dependence, reliance
Awarded to those who prove they can be trusted and that they can trust in their liege without question.
• Peace (Silver): Absence or cessation of war, general order and tranquility.
- calm, order, harmony, contentment
Awarded to those who have proven they can resolve conflicts/disputes without combat or aggression.
• Honor (Red): A nice sense of what is right, that to which respect is due.
- respect, dignity, reputation, regard
Awarded to those who project an air of dignity and gain the respect of the people through their actions.
• Goodness (Orange): Morally excellent, virtuous, worthy, kind, benevolent.
- righteous, just, incorrupt, conscientious, reputable
Awarded to those who prove their morals are above reproach. They are kind and benevolent.
• Strength (Green): The quality or property of being strong, tenacity, toughness, the ability to do or bear.
- sturdy, tough, resolute, determined
Awarded to those who show strength of will or purpose. They are resolute in their determination to see a task to the end.
• Valor (Purple): Intrepid courage, especially in warfare. Personal bravery.
- courage, heroism, chivalry, fearlessness, gallantry
Awarded to those who show courage and bravery in the face of extreme danger or against all odds.
• Honesty (Brown): The character or quality of being honest. Uprightness of conduct in general.
- integrity, uprightness, just-dealing, sincerity
Awarded to those who have proven that their word is above reproach.
• Loyalty (Blue): Devoted allegiance.
- faithful, steadfast, constant, trustworthy, true
Awarded to those who prove they have a die-hard devotion and loyalty to king and kingdom.
• Generosity (Gold): The quality of being generous. A generous act.

Awarded to those who prove to be generous of both hand and heart.
