Taxation

Each person who conducts business in Dragonreach is required to pay 10% of money earned to the crown. This applies to any transaction within the borders. Including but not limited to sale of crops, livestock, sale of weapons, armor, alcohol, services such as masonry or construction, collection of bounties for wanted individuals. Taxes should be paid to the office of the Baroness/Baron, or a writted tax collector within 3 months of the transaction occurring. Adventurers in good standing have this tax waived. Good standing is considered to be having completed a task for the kingdom as appointed by a noble of Baroness/Baron or higher. At least once a year.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Guilds and large enterprises maybe subject to additional taxes, and will be notified of said taxes. Failure to pay according to the terms laid out by the crown is considered a violation of this law.

Assault
Causing injury to an unwilling citizen of the Kingdom of Dragonreach. Either through physical, alchemical, mental, or magical means.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Murder
Causing the intentional resurrection or permanent death of a citizen of the Kingdom of Dragonreach. Either through physical, alchemical, mental, or magical means.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.


Manslaughter
Causing the unintentional resurrection or permanent death of a citizen of the Kingdom of Dragonreach. Either through physical, alchemical, mental, or magical means.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.

Slavery
The willful holding of a native person of Fortanis against their will. Either through physical, alchemical, mental, or magical means. This crime includes profiting off of the above.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Theft
Taking of a citizen of Dragonreach’s property against their will.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Treason
Working against the interest of the kingdom either knowingly or unknowingly.

This includes but is not limited to consorting with enemies of Dragonreach, willful endangerment of a Noble of Dragonreach, sabotage of political alliances or potential alliances, or disrespect to the crown. Additionally, any crime committed against a noble is also considered treason.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher. Or a Lady/Lord in their own lands.

A Noble must be tried by their liege, or their liege’s liege, and so on. All nobles are capable of being tried by his Majesty King Lycergis.

Use of Destructive Magic
The willful use of chaotic or void magics.

The willful casting of rituals invoking vacuum.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Alienism
Consorting with Extraplanar Creatures against the interests of Dragonreach or its allies. This includes but is not limited to deals struck with Elementals, Oni, and Fae.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Destruction of Property
The willful or wilful destruction of another's personal possessions or land.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Blackmail or Bribery
An attempt to compel a citizen into an act against the kingdom or another citizen in harmful manner.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Burglary
Willfully entering of a structure owned by a citizen of Dragonreach without permission.

This crime can be tried by a Lady/Lord or higher or a Knight of his Majesty King Lycergis.

Impersonating a Noble
Portraying yourself either publicly or privately as a noble when this is not the case.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.

Making a false statement
Making false statements about another citizen either written, spoken or in dreams.

Willfully lying to a noble.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.

Reckless Endangerment
Committing willful or unwillful of actions that lead to putting a citizen of Dragonreach in harm’s way.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.

Creation of an Unlicensed Guild, Mercenary Group, Ward or Circle of Power
All guilds in Dragonreach require a writ of operation.

Any organizations larger than 50 people require a writ of operation.

Circles or Wards/Wizard Lock lasting longer than 5 days also require a writ from the Baroness/Baron of the area, the Count of the area, the Duke of the Area, or his Majesty King Lycergis.

Circles created, no matter the length of time they exist, in public areas with the expressed interest of blocking access require a writ.

Ward/Wizard Locks created in public areas require a writ.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.


Failure to report a crime
The willful failure to report a witnessed crime or plans to commit a crime to a noble.

A lower ranking noble failing to report a crime they cannot try to a higher level noble.

This crime can be tried by a Baroness/Baron or higher or a Lady/Lord in his own lands.

Illegal Possessions
Possessing, owning, using, selling or attempting to sell any of the following objects or substances:

Ritual Scrolls of the Chaos School

Ritual Scrolls of Void Magic

Ritual Scrolls of Vacuum Magic

Ritual Scrolls of Time Magic

Potions of Chaos Magic

Magical items containing Chaos Magic

Summon Extraplanar Creature: Lawful Oni

Summon Extraplanar Creature: Chaos Oni

Summon Extraplanar Creature: Pantherghast


The possession of the following without a royal poisoner's writ

Amnesia Poisons

Enslavement Poisons

Euphoria Poisons

Dominate Poisons

Harmful Ingested Poisons of any kind

Any magical item that mimics one of these affects


The possession of the following without a royal mentalist’s writ

Enslavement Poisons

Dominate Poisons

Euphoria Poisons

Charm Battle Magic Scrolls

Any magical item that mimics one of these affects


The possession of the following without a royal summoner’s writ

Summon Extraplanar Creature Scrolls not explicitly marked as illegal

Any Summon Magical Creature not mentioned above

Any Summon Elemental not mentioned above

Summon Artifact

Spirit Farewell

Planar Gate

Contact Other Plane

Any Create Node not mentioned above
