My friend Keres has recently met a few people of your lands while in Ashbury City and wishes to visit. I need a much deserved break from my studies and so will be joining him. Is there an Inn in your town that we may use or do other arrangements need to be made? I do not have much in the way of coin, but I do have other skills that may be traded. I can memorize particular spells, spellcraft, cast rituals, all of which are vansir and biata friendly, or teach if any of this would aid us in obtaining a safe place to sleep. If not, I would appreciate it if someone in town owning a Limited Circle of Power Scroll would allow me to spellcraft from it so that I'm not left outside unprotected. We should arrive soon, assuming the mists allow.

On a different note, I am compiling information on two different subjects and would very much appreciate it if I could get your help. The first is a collection of generic resurection stories aimed at helping those newer to giving resurrections. Race specific or general are both useful and once done I plan on making a copy for all Healer's Guilds that request. The second is a book that includes different monsters that plague certain areas. That way newer adventurers can know what to expect and those that travel through the mists to other lands can know of what to be wary. If anyone can think of anything that may attack people here it would be appreciated. Information such as a name, what they look like, what they may use to attack, and what they have as defenses (such as what will and will not affect them) are things that I am seeking.

Thank you for your aid in advance.

Greetings, Arch Magus Sun;

Welcome to the Crossroads. While this is a lovely town with much to offer, I regret to inform you that now is an unfortunate time to be visiting - our Kingdom (the Kingdom of Andar) has been invaded by an enemy force and we are under constant threat of attack. If you are still interested in journeying to the Crossroads, however, we would be happy to try and make your stay here a pleasant one.

The Midnight Raven regularly rents rooms. Additionally, the Earth Guild often has space available for travelers. Finally, there are other Adventurers whom you can make arrangements with for lodging; I would not advise lodging alone without a Ward or spellcrafted Circle. If you are interested in a Circle, I have a scroll you could spellcraft from - but note that you must obtain a legal Writ to put up a Spellcrafted circle (though this may have recently changed, I do not believe it has - hopefully Lieutenant Johnathan Lancaster or the excellent Ambassador Kauss could chime in on this). Barring that, there are several people you could buy a Ward from (though speaking for my own Ward sales it is much easier to arrange such with a reservation a bit ahead of time)

On my own behalf, I would be happy to work with you on both of your scholarly pursuits. I am sure there are others who would be glad to assist as well.

Good Seneschal Polare,

My last discussion with the Magistrate on the matter of house protections indicated that Writs are only necessary for ritually-cast Circles. A spellcrafted Circle, based on its extreme limited duration, does not require such. If this has changed, I have not been so advised, despite my publicly-known frequent use of the same.

Arch Magus Sun,

I would be most interested in speaking with you on the matter of your books in monsteric lore. I have spent some time helping the Count Filigrino establishing a class in his school geared towards that very end, and while word of mouth and direct instruction can convey much meaning, written word is often more consistent in its presentation. As your own accomodations are in flux, I would be honored if you sought me out, or sent word where I may come meet with you on that matter. I can usually be found enjoying Seneschal Lissenstein's hospitality.
