The Ohio National Event?

So, I know it's a long way off but I was just wondering- is anyone from our group planning to attend? If so what method of travel & time table would you suggest?

I haven't decided if I'm gonna go yet but I'm considering it.

Also, do you guys know if they camp there or if you absolutely have to get a hotel? I'd rather avoid that expense if at all possible.

There will be a camp there, I'll probably be flying in as I have to be there a couple days early for the Owners meeting.

It would be fun to see a car load road trip it out, expect about a full day of driving to get there though ^.^

There are groups of people planning on heading out from Chicago... could always link up with us...

I'm not sure when I have to be there, if I have to be in attendance for the symposium, but if not, I'd be up for joining in one big caravan...

I know that there will be a crew heading down from MN in some form...but that is all still yet to be put together, I know I will be attending at least :D

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. I actually have another huge event to attend right after that on Thursday. If I can make it back by Monday I should be good. If it's Tuesday I dunno.

Remeber the event itself is a long weekend. So its going to run Fri event-all Sat-all Sun-Mon morning. So don't expect to be leaving until late Monday if you want to attend the whole thing. And quite frankly if you make a trip that big its hard to justify missing a significant part of the event. Not to mention the endings are sometimes the "most" exciting. Plus the after-game dinners and all.

I a long weekend, not just a regular weekend. Not to discourage people, but rather to say if you go all-in on this one, it will be well worth it! I attended the last national event, as a relatively low level character and I still had a TON of fun. I'm betting this national event is going to be even more well attended and I can't wait for it! :D

I'll definitely be there, but because I'm going to probably be there "on my way" to MN for the school year I'm afraid I can't really offer a whole lot in the way of carpooling.

It seems that my Northern crew is interested in attending and I was wondering if anyone knows what to expect for fees. Both PC and NPC.

I would be VERY surprised if you had to pay much if anything to NPC. Although for a long weekend. PC prices will probably not be less than 60-70$. Just a guess.

I'd be up to go. Just curious as to how people intend on getting out there. How many people normally attend the national event? -Dawson

Last national event was pretty marginally attended with about only 40-50 people, I think. Of course that was a year a half ago so it could have been more.

However this event is more centrally located so I am VERY hopeful its gonna have a lot more people. I wouldn't be surprised if we hit more like 80+ people. :) Big are FUN!

I was thinking the number was closer to mid 60s, but it has been awhile, I hope, expect, nay demand a three figure attendance at this upcoming event!

Going to have to have a game that'll excite that many people, advertised well enough (and enough in advance) to make them want to go to it. Being in a non-coastal chapter, I somewhat expect lower numbers than last time just from the expense of traveling in this economy.

Non coastal means that it is more central for the economy. Also there is a good deal to be said for it not being at HQ. There are a lot of stigmas around HQ for one reason or another...
