The Tale of Undaunted Karenza

Saoirse

Newbie
The day was long tired and adventurer’s too
When the third stag was finally spied.
What direction he went, nobody knew
So, every which way was then tried.
In small groups and pairs, they combed through the trees
To flush out the colorless stag,
And Karenza, undaunted, though not in a sprint,
Gave pursuit, though behind she did lag.

With no stag in sight, some gave up the chase,
Turning back cross the meadow and slope.
But Karenza, persistent, circled down near the road
For she had not given up hope.
Two spotted the stag and chased it like mad
Pushing north and away from the rest.
With weapons and skill they found the beast clad
But still thought perhaps they could best.

The woman fell first, for she was the least
Of the two that in battle did meet
With the stag, and so quickly the tireless beast
‘tween parry and thrust did defeat
Her and left her in dirt as he focused anon
On the man he so wished to dispose.
The man, though far-skilled, was so hailed upon
With powerful, unending blows

He was beaten aback and pressed far down the road
Out of sight, was dispatched in the dirt.
And alas, two in need of a healing bestowed
But who left for their death to avert?
No one in hearing it seemed, but Karenza
The faithful and true, came upon
The dying Electi, and so she then lends the
Dark elf her first aid then anon
The two next find Saoirse and so she’s revived
Who’d done it? The unfailing Karenza’d!
The circle them both was therefore deprived
Despite what their wounds had intended.

And so when you think of battles in legend
And tales of lore that are told and retold
And you think of the heroes so often there mentioned
There is one more to add to the fold.
The steadfast Karenza who two lives did save
On a beautiful autumnal day
Simply by being her own brand of brave
In her steady and resolute way.
And when you fight your battles and feel a bit lag
Or think up to the task you are not,
Think of Karenza’s pursuit of the stag
And the ne’er give up lesson she taught.

Saoirse, this is so beautiful. I admire your talent and I'd like to thank you for this.
