Over the past year, since the last halloween, the Black Forest has been dealing with a foul creature who will be of great importance this halloween. I will endeavor to impart all of my knowledge here, as serious illness will keep me from making the journey.
On the last Halloween, some of the Black Forest and the court of the Ash Forest entered a crypt which appeared on a farmer's field. After a battle we cam across a large chest and a creature, a foul undead abomination, behind a circle. The creature told us a story about a prince who ruled over the Abysmal Gorge in the years before the "kings of halloween". The Prince was powerful and fearsome, but was eventually overthrown by the creatures who became the new "Kings". The creature then told us that with the defeat and destruction of the kings, which is what the adventurers were doing at the time, the prince would be able to once again rise to power. The thing then sunk into the ground, leaving us with the chest. Inside the chest was a rusty and decomposed suit of Imladari armor, that of a high ranking officer or noble.
A few months later, the Black Forest was helping out a local merchant with the clearing of a cave in which she gathered lichen. Deep withing the cave came a familiar voice, the same one from halloween, along with a second unfamiliar one. They spoke of finding the body of their prince, whom one refered to as Entropy, and also revealed that the creature who appeared to us at halloween was a vessel, carring the essence of the prince inside it. They needed to locate the body to complete the revival of the prince. We confronted the two creature, and the vessel once again sunk into the ground. The other, some form of undead insect-kin, commanded its minions to attack. We battled a series of undead spiders, who seemed to entangle us with some magical silk, until their numbers were depleted and we faced the creature itself. It turned out to be a powerful caster with some innate spell-like abilities and eventually we were forced to retreat.
At the past gather, during the party and Sir Braveroar Stonehammer's spirit farewell, the vessel appeared again. It hissed a warning to all those gathered, however due to my distance from it, obscured view and current fever, I am unable to recall the specifics of the message.
As far as I can tell, if the prince is once again allowed to rule over the gorge, peace will come to what was once a place of fighting, wars, and unrest. A peace that will only help to strengthen the densiens of the gorge and make it tougher for us to keep then from this world. It has even been said that the princes power might be enough to keep a rift between our world and the Abysmal Gorge open all year long, instead of the usualy once yearly thinning.
My thoughts are as follows. I believe the price was once whimever wore the armor we found that haloween night. Some long dead Imladari nobility who suffered a terrible fate. I also believe that Nachtface, the only "king of halloween" who was not destroyed last year, may play an important role in preventing/removing the prince's claim to power. Perhaps if the vessel could be located and destroyed before the body of the prince is found, if is hasn't been already, the price could also be stopped as well.
