The Undying Isles... In Wayside?!?

Honorable People of Andar,

My name is Garmok Stoneskull. I was in Andar about seven months ago, as a part of a group with people from both Wayside and Valdanis.

I come to you because of something I encountered in Wayside last market day. A group of us went after an artifact known as the Dell Hammer. Guarding it was a number of dark dwarves. As we got close to the Hammer, one of the dwarves started yelling about protecting the Hammer and to "fight for the Undying Isles". Anyone out there know anything about this?

Garmok Stoneskull,

Some time ago, it was suspected and confirmed that the things known commonly as "Dark Dwarves" and the Undying Isles had forged some sort of a pact between them. You'll have to find someone else for more specific details, but I can tell you that I have seen them work side-by-side previously. If you seek more specific answers, narrow your dreamings to me...

Honorable Eli'Razael,

Thank you for the information about the dark dwarves... but what are they doing in Wayside guarding the Dell Hammer?

Garmok Stoneskull,

While its specific purpose and true meaning aren't known to me, the Hammer of Dell is an artifact of the Dwarven folk as far as I do know. From the beginning of our... interactions with the darker-skinned Dwarves, they went on at great length about Dell and what was his. Likely they were trying to hide it from their enemies here, thinking those in foreign lands would be more accepting of their particular way of barbarisim.

If you're interested in more detail about the Hammer, I'd find yourself a Dwarf to ask. For a more personal hand at its use, seek out the Ambassador Kauss, as I do recall it being in his hands for a time.

Unfortunately, my information as to how these groups fare in their efforts is much out of date, my guess as to why they are in your lands are merely that, a guess.

Well... anyone have an idea what dark dwarves from Andar would be doing in Wayside? It's pretty odd...

...yes... they enjoy kidnapping victims, and dragging them to caves below the surface where they pit their captives against things like hook cavers, and other creatures that dwell in the never light. They also enjoy eating them, torturing them, and trading them to other sentient, yet barely palatable, creatures that dwell below the surface. Such creatures as mind flayers and the like.

As to the details about their alliance with the Undying islands I can only speculate, though I can assure you with great conviction that they are up to no good. I strongly advise you to eradicate them off the face of the earth at each and every opportunity, and to cremate their remains. If they are indeed making pacts with the Undying isles it stands to reason that they are doing so for the money, or power that they hope to gain with the curse of undeath, while the undead get a patsy that they can use to accomplish their aims, and undermine those that would stand against them, and their schemes.

Know this, the Undying islands are true undead in the terms that they are not inhibited by mortal desires, and have shown themselves quite capable of thinking beyond the scope of mortal reckoning. They are quite intelligent, and gifted in arts long since lost from this place. I recommend any strategy that you and yours discuss, be done with the utmost discretion, in places fortified, and warded against, both physical, mental, and spiritual intrusion. Their schemes, some of the ones that have been uncovered, and thwarted are ones that easily have stretched many generations of human life spans.

Thank you very much for the tip, and I offer you terms of alliance in our mutual undertaking of the removal of this insidious cancer from our lands.
If you have seen them in your lands, they are probably responsible in part or fully for missing persons. They are talented in the arts of correspondence, and the folding of the in-between...or using portals to move distances as it would be more commonly known. They dwell deep below the surface, and as previously stated by Lord Eli, they have been seen working with, and for members of they Undying Islands, and have been known to bring Greater undead to the field. They also seem to have a penchant for giant scorpions.

Sir Krieger,

I would gladly accept your help in the matter. I will be returning to Andar in about a month's time... perhaps we can mount an offensive against these dwarves and Isles?

I would like nothing better than to eradicate this fetid menace from our lands, and homes for all time. I greatly look forward to the arrival of you, and yours, and will gladly join forces in the spirit of comradeship to the destruction of our foes.

Hello! ((cheerful waving through the mists))

I am planning on visiting up to the oh so lovely Andar this next month, and seeing if the sights are any better now that the dastardly Master of Pain seems to have been shooed off.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist you in, by blade, spell or fashion sense!
