This event is most likly going to be hot, and we always get a little more tired in new places soo.
1) Drink a lot of water and other good for your liquids. Make sure to drink often and this goes double if your an NPC.

2) Watch yourself and your exposure to sun and heat. If you are over hot take a rest. Out of the sun. If you need to go oog to do it, its a health matter and just snagg staff and tell them. Or a marshal if you cant get staff (Please do not abuse this)

Please take care of yourself and keep in mind if I think your going to pass out from not doing one of the above, I have no problem with busting you on it:).

Have fun but play safe.

Heat exhaustion is one of the heat-related syndromes, which range in severity from mild heat cramps to heat exhaustion to potentially life-threatening heatstroke.

Signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion often begin suddenly, sometimes after excessive exercise, heavy perspiration and inadequate fluid intake. Signs and symptoms resemble those of shock and include:

Feeling faint
Nausea
Ashen appearance
Rapid heartbeat
Low blood pressure
Hot, red, dry or sweaty skin
Low-grade fever, generally less than 104 F
If you suspect heat exhaustion:

Get the person out of the sun and into a shady or air-conditioned location.
Lay the person down and elevate the feet slightly.
Loosen or remove the person's clothing.
Have the person drink cool water, not iced, or a sports drink containing electrolytes.
Cool the person by spraying him or her with cool water and fanning.
Monitor the person carefully. Heat exhaustion can quickly become heatstroke. If fever ? especially greater than 104 F, fainting, confusion or seizures occur, dial 911 or call for emergency medical assistance.

Do we know if this campground has any swimming facilities? I remember quite fondly the opportunity to swim in the lake at Millers two junes ago when it was 95 degrees on saturday. That, and watching Masticon try to swim!

*falls out of her chair at working laughing* Umm yeah....

My guess would be that those are probably for winter time when it snows.

There is a river nearby, and many of the trails do lead to it. I would caution people against swimming in rivers without previous experience and never without a buddy... sorry, it's a scout camp - I had to.

Hear that EMILY? Drink liquids!!!!

I swear that I will not get dehydrated again! I shall be the liquid-drinker from beyond >.> I shall
And anyway... what else is there to drink aside from liquids? o.O
answer: nothing that I can think of

Ooo! It's been a while since I got to swim in a river. I miss river hiking. Though I don't miss slipping and hitting my head. Thats a funny story.
