Timed Abilities

There are several abilities in the game (Refit Armor, First Aid, etc.) that require a count (usually 1 minute) to perform.

In my experience (since I usually wear a watch to time these counts) most people count way faster than they are supposed to. Probably the average amount of time I see for a "1 minute" count is 40-50 seconds.

Some questions:

- I actually AM supposed to count for a full minute (60 seconds) correct?

- If someone uses a Refit Armor on me, for instance, and after 45 seconds stops and says "I'm done" and moves on, what should I do? Should I take it? Not take it? Tell him that he still has 15 seconds to go? (Assume that I am looking at my watch so I know it was actually 45 seconds)

- About what amount of time should I report it to a marshal? I mean, clearly if he counts it in 58 seconds, that's not far enough off that it is worth reporting it to a marshal. But clearly if he counts way too fast, that is cheating. Were would be a good "cutoff point" here?

If it's an honest mistake, well... use your best judgement. We've all gotten distracted and lost our place, messed up a count because of holds being called, gotten wrapped up in watching the epic honor combat one-on-one duel taking place and forgotten our count and guessed or re-started. More than once, probably. Being off by 2-5 seconds probably isn't the end of the world, it's human error.

If a master blacksmith (who can refit your physical armor in 30 seconds) routinely takes about 12, that's systematic and something that should probably be brought to a marshal's attention. It's something you can mention to one of them at your earliest convenience... TBH, it's not such a huge violation that you need to pull them out of an encounter/wave battle, especially if they're actively involved in it. It's something that, once you bring it up, they'll keep an eye out for. It's up to the marshal or a staff member to discuss it with the other player.
