To the people of Fairdale

It is very late, or early as it may be and I find myself unable to sleep restfuly as events in the Deadlands of Larethan have left me with much on my mind.

Foremost I regret to inform the people of Icenia that Jarrin Vorik met his permanant death in on the feild of battle in the Deadlands this past gather. As we assulted one of seven towers containing energies which had to be destroied, Jarrin stood his ground as we defended the Paladin who was channeling the nessesary power to finish the task. He dissapated in my arms as the life spell was litteraly in the air between him and its caster.

Know that in aiding in these battles and indeed giving his life in battle, he helped set in motion a victory which has liberated the Bastion of Stoneroost, the final great city of our people in the Deadlands, from the domination of the Spectral Litch known as Emilio Barrenger. The same one transformed here in Icenia and who fled to the Deadlands to escape our wrath a year ago. Further still, the Void Shard Emilio carried has been separated from him, and vastly diminished, to the point that I know not if it was able to retain its power at all.

Jarrin's death was not in vain. Thousands of our people have a place to call home, and a chance to rebuild. There will be battles to come, but this battle is over, and Jarrin's willingness to fight, no matter what horrors our enemy tried to torment us with, showed his comitment to the causes of the good and the just.

His betrothed, Lanna, I belive will be arranging a ceramony once the spring thaws come.

All Hail the Glorious Dead, May His Memories Live Forever,
Amaranthus Landcharmer

Goodman Amaranthus,
Thank you for bringing us this news. There is no better death for a soldier than in defense of his Kingdom or race. Yet I mourn for the fact that were it not for the act of a cowardly assassin Jarrin would still be with us.

First and Only,
-Sheriff Davin Holst

Jarrin Vorik was as stalwart a comrade-at-arms as one could ever want. Let his detractors be silenced and his assassins be torn limb from bloody limb.

Another life once there has now vanished.

Thank you, Amaranthus, for informing us fellow adventurers.

Lanna, you have my condolences as well. Let me know if you need anything.

Argus Varda.

A life vanished? No...life only vanished when it is forgotten. The candle only dims in death. In memory it is held eternal. In the telling life lingers, in the remembering love holds. Grieve for the fallen, loss is a pain left to those who remain, lightened by memory and the knowledge that those departed rest now to await that next reunion whose name is forever.

He's right. I will never stop talking about him. I will continue to look for what he was seeking. I will walk tall, knowing I have his blade at my hip, and my life thanks to his. I look up to Jarrin as my role-model as a fighter, as a Biata, and as a standing of moral value.

My heart aches for you Lanna. I cannot imagine what would become of me if I were in your shoes. Know that you have my blade, my coin, or anything else to aid you.

He will never be forgotten, May his name pass lips only ion praise, and May the Spirits be kind to him until we meet again.
