As those of you that travel these lands are aware, we are currently at war with the dark elves. I use the phrase "at war" loosely because as of yet they have met with very little resistance outside of fighting the adventurers. Over the coming months I seek to change that, hopefully with your help. I have already organized 5 other groups who are trained enough to start fighting back and we have cleared out a small section of the ruins outside the dwarven city. We are erecting a refugee camp there for people from all around the lands who are currently being displaced by the dark elves.
Over the course of the winter we will need help scouting the lands to find any food stores that have been left over as well as finding any left over refugees that haven't made it into the camp and are currently in hiding. If you do decide to help and venture into the occupied land I suggest that you should do so only during the day as there are roving bands of dark elves patrolling at night. Also, if you see any permanently dead bodies, please burn them, I do not want the dark elves to add even more resources to their army.
For those of you intent on any sort of diplomatic relations with the dark elves I say this: In the past 600 years, they have not once sought any sort of negotiation during a time of war. If they wish to negotiate, I'm sure it will be on their terms and when they see fit to do so. If you are wondering why they started this war, I can tell you that it is for the same reason that they have done so in the past. The surface was growing and with the adventurers present, we were starting to rebuild. In the past, when this happens they rise up and strike us down. I'm guessing now is not much different.
They have invaded our lands and killed our people. No more. I ask that you stand with me against this threat, these invaders will spare no one and I ask that we stand against them, even though none have in the past. I have been speaking with Norana Stoneshield and the Stoneshield dwarves are willing to help us in any way they can. They are also sending emissaries into Bel'Grandur to rally support from the other dwarven clans.
We cannot win this war without your help. The people of this land are putting their faith and their lives in our hands. I pray that we do not let them down.
