Greetings!

Having recently heard of your quaint village, on the other side of this marvelous portal, I have made the decision to venture forth and visit these exciting and fertile lands. Within the next day or so I hope to be ready to pass through the portal, but I do have a few questions regarding travel and lodging in these lands.
1: Is the coach service from the portal to the village on a regular schedule, or must I make advance arrangements to be picked up?
2: Could anyone offer a recommendation of an inn with decent accommodations? I do not need a suite with fountains, private chambermaids and a personal chef (not that I would turn it down if offered); I merely am seeking a well appointed room, with a private bath and a tub, which can be drawn with hot water for bathing.
3: What services are available in the village? I understand it is a smaller town, so I am merely trying to gauge what I should expect in terms of merchants, services and entertainment. Is there a Wine Cellar, with a knowledgeable sommelier and decent selection? A good cheesemonger? Library? Open-air market? Theatre? Museum?
4: Are there any supplies I should bring along with me, that I will not be able to obtain on the other side of the portal?

I thank you in advance and look forward to meeting you all soon,

Master Santori,

Greetings, Hope this message finds you in good strengths and spirits.

I regret to inform you that I am not aware of any coach service to and from the portal in operation at this time. Also, unless I have missed something, there is no proper inn. There is a meeting hall, where most go to gather, the adventurers go to prepare food and drink.
As for merchants and entertainment. There is Rufus, he tends to be the primary merchant. The adventuring population generally is willing to trade for the right price as well. Entertainment? No sure this is a proper cheesemonger, no theater as far as I am aware, but the town kids might be bribed to do some acting for some sweets. Museum? Library? Things like that? There are ruins about this land that would tell this places history with relics, writings, and the like. But I will warn you, these places are highly dangerous and to be explored at ones own risk, and with the knowledge that you are putting your life in danger.
Supplies you should bring? Well, you got a good pack mule? Cause bringing most necessities is a good idea, along with armor and weapons.
Lodging, I am sure there is a good amount of unclaimed beds in the area around the general store last I heard. But no private rooms unless you can barter a room from one of the local towns folk in their homes. As for wards and the like. I can sell you one if you wish.
Bit of advice. Do not trust the skree. Do not feed the Draxion. Beware the red eyes at night. In general, most of the wildlife is hostile. Giant mushrooms spew poison spores at you. The large lizards can spit toxic spittle.

Hope your enjoy your stay.

Squire Tanis,

Thank you for your prompt response to my inquiries, and for your candor. It appears this will be quite the adventure! Tarnsdale sounds much more rustic than I had expected, never to worry, I can always make due.
From the sounds of it, I will need to pack everything, including the kitchen sink. The sounds of the ruins intrigues me, my visit to Tarnsdale is primarily scientific in nature, though no archaeologist, it's never too late to take it up! But lizards and mushrooms you describe fascinate me! I'll be cautious of course, but I really have no use for weapons, as I believe in non-violent conflict resolution whenever possible, though I don't begrudge those called to pick up the sword and shield. On the contrary, adventuring types are amazing sorts, I never have been quite able to grasp what drives them.

Once I arrive in town, I should be there on Friday, I'll be sure to inquire about the location of the general store and any unclaimed bunks.

Thank you again, I look forward to making your acquaintance in person.

Master Santori,

If you believe that you will need an escort into town Friday night, I believe the town guard may be willing to come get you. Kasuni would be the lady to get a hold of, or Sir Avaran, and I believe they could work the details for your arrival with you.

Maybe we will sit and have a drink when you arrive in town.

Squire Tanis

It sounds as if several people will be arriving through the portal in the days upcoming. Squire Tanis, that is a wonderful suggestion. We will assemble a town guard escort for anyone who might find it useful through the next few evenings. May your travels be safe until then!

Kasuni
Captain of the Town Guard

Kasuni,

Let me know if you think you will need and extra spell hand. I will be in town this gather.
