Travelling from Pittsburgh?

Mike Strauss does. He's a staff member and frequent poster here. You might want to PM him.

I am the Mike Strauss he is referring to. I am going to the June game as are at least two others from Pittsburgh. Send me a PM.

Also, to answer a question you asked in a different thread: Scott Kondrk (the previous poster) is the only Marshall in HQ that can approve latex weapons, so he is the decision maker as far as HQ is concerned for your weapon.

Dan Lineaweaver (our head of rules) may also approve latex weapons at this time.

So far, brandwise, Epic Armory and Forgotten Realms seem fine. Many if not most of the ones sold by Museum Replicas are fine too. If a link or pic plus manufacturing info is provided to us here, we can likely make a pretty informed decision on this board, though it's not 100% guaranteed unless we've handled the particular model before.

Robbie,
I believe you cannot waylay with latex as a blanket rule. Could be wrong.

you are. you cannot waylay with latex... unless you add a waylay tip. all of this needs to be approved by a marshal though, which is why i am asking Scott.

As long as its safe, I have no issue with this.

I haven't gotten a chance to look at your axe picture yet.

Scott

Not that I have any concern about Robb handling weapons...
But, per the addendum:

If a player wishes to be able to stab or waylay anyone with any weapon used in an Alliance game, said player must use a boffer weapon which has the standard two inch open cell foam tips on each end; thus, said player, in order to stab or waylay, must use a weapon that has been approved under our current non-latex, standard weapon guidelines.

That is pretty explicit.

Doh. Good catch Mike. I can't believe I voted for that. Must have been one of them there compromises I made to get the "gaps" in weapon lengths removed and to get waylay tips off bows.

::shrug:: I'll keep using crappy looking weapons then. I'd rather waylay than not.

Split the difference? Use your cool looking axe and carry a crappy dagger that just barely passes inspection but has a perfectly made waylay tip.

nah. in the heat of battle, i want to be able to make a quick decision of whether i use a back attack or waylay.. depends on the monster, situation, etc. and with two axes already in my hands, it's easier to just use my boffers i guess. sucks though, those latexers looked amazing.

I thought I was right.
